Altitude - Valve
Gameplay:
  • Reverse Thrust - reduced energy consumption from 110% recharge rate to 83% recharge rate (planes now recover energy while reversing)
  • Rubberized Hull - reduced energy loss and turning debuff from EMP by 20%
  • Biplane (All Forms) - reduced energy loss and turning debuff from EMP by 20%
  • Biplane (Recoilless) - afterburner effectiveness increased by 14%
  • Biplane (Recoilless) - secondary weapon energy usage reduced by 2%
  • Biplane (Dogfighter) - afterburner effectiveness for stall breaking significantly increased [effectiveness drops linearly from +60% at slow speeds to +0% near cruise speed]

Interface:
  • Added Map, Time (round duration), and Next Map to award screen

  • Added "Chase Specific Player" spectate option -- you can lock the camera to a single player via the score screen (hold TAB to show scores, right click player, choose 'Spectate...')
  • Added "[Warning] You have been idle for 4 minutes." message (with beep) to help spectators avoid idle kicks
  • Increased the visibility of the Mouse crosshair and the Keyboard+Mouse orientation cone
  • New title screen background
  • Replaced welcome screen buttons with changelog
  • Friend list: increased visibility of current server and last online time; added buttons for "Join Server" and "Message"; increased max friend count to 200
  • Friend chat windows (Menu -> Friends) no longer consume the escape key allowing easy toggling between gameplay and chat
  • If a tournament is in progress, the score screen (TAB) will render the names of participants that are currently spectating with the color of the team they are assigned to
  • If a tournament is started with even teams and teams become uneven at any point during the tournament a red warning will appear in the top right (Teams: X vs Y)
  • Spectators can now visually determine which team an acid cloud belongs to (left team's acid is light green, right team's acid is dark green)
  • Hangar Deck -> Stats has a new row, "Total"
Altitude - Valve
Updates to Altitude have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

Updated Maps:
  • tbd_asteroids
  • tbd_underpark
Balance:
  • Reverse Thrust - increased acceleration by 10% and reduced energy consumption
  • Miranda's Reverse no longer temporarily disables Repair Drone
  • Miranda's Reverse and Time Anchor now reduce Repair Drone's recharge rate by 50% (time between repairs is doubled for the 1.35 seconds following Reverse/TimeAnchor activation)
  • Biplane (All Forms) reduced afterburner energy usage by 5%
  • Biplane (Dogfighter) secondary weapon increased range from 80 to 90, added piercing (second hit deals 80%, third 50%), increased damage from 27 to 28
  • Biplane (Recoilless) secondary weapon increased range from 80 to 90, added piercing (second hit deals 70%, third 40%)
  • Biplane (Heavy Cannon) primary weapon increased piercing second hit damage from 50% to 67%
Offline Mode:
  • Plane configurations are saved between sessions
  • All downloaded maps (not just official maps) are available for play
  • FFA and TDM games end after 7 minutes
Misc:
  • Added "Lock Gamepad Config" to Options -> Controls: check this box to prevent reinitialization of default gamepad bindings when controllers are temporarily unplugged
  • Added friend count to friends list window
  • Added account creation date to Hangar Deck
  • Added "Local Time" and "Altitude Time (GMT)" to bottom of in-game scoreboard (hold TAB to view)
  • "Mouse Navigation: Turning and Throttle" - can now override the mouse-based throttle at any time by pressing the Throttle-Up/Down keys (allows mouse users to utilize the "Reverse Thrust" perk)
  • Adjusted "Mouse Navigation" trigger to prevent accidentally entering mouse mode when switching to Altitude from another application
  • Server Launcher now writes a PID file containing server_launcher's process identifier to ~Altitude/servers/server_launcher.pid upon startup and restart
  • Servers that are running an outdated version are automatically filtered from the server list

Added "Offline Mode" for convenient access to training and skirmish modes when playing without an internet connection


New mouse control configurations available under Options -> Controls -> Mouse Navigation:

  • Turning and Throttle -- control orientation and throttle using the mouse (default)
  • Turning Only -- control orientation with the mouse and throttle with the keyboard (best for mouse+reverse thrust)
  • Disabled (prevent accidental switches to mouse mode)

Altitude - Valve
Updates to Altitude have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

New Maps:
  • Added tbd_underpark (thanks Mandrad)

Balance:
  • Biplane (All Forms) increased turning rate by 1.5% (6.5 -> 6.6)
  • Biplane (Dogfighter, Recoilless) increased primary weapon ejection velocity (17 -> 19, note: reduced lifetime so that max travel distance is unchanged)
  • Biplane (Dogfighter, Recoilless) slightly increased primary weapon damage (38 -> 39)
  • Biplane (Heavy Cannon) slightly increased primary weapon damage (109 -> 112)
  • Bomber (All Forms) decreased turning rate by 2.9% (7.0 -> 6.8)
Feature Additions:
  • Mouse Control: press F1 to open the console and type "mouse true" to activate

Altitude - Valve
Updates to Altitude have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

Added "Ace" System:
  • Upon reaching level 60, players can click a button under Hangar Deck -> Stats to become an Ace.
  • When you become an Ace you will start over at level 1 with unlocks and challenges reset.
  • There are no gameplay advantages to becoming an Ace.
  • You will receive a new badge and the first 5 Ace ranks will each unlock an extra slot on the plane selection screen.
  • The max Ace rank is 10.
  • Aces can only gain XP in multiplayer games: single player skirmishes and bot kills don't generate XP
  • Ace XP gain is slower on high player count servers to discourage XP farming: with 10 or fewer players aces gain experience at 140% the pre-patch rate; at 14 players experience accumulates at the normal rate; beyond 14 players experience accumulates slower in proportion to the excess player count (e.g. 20 players -> 14/20 = 70% normal XP gain)

Ball Mode Improvements:
  • Added "Ball Camera" spectate option: press C to toggle between Free/Chase/Ball spectate modes
  • Added goal assist tracking
  • Added "time of possesssion" to end of round award screen
  • Added visual trail effect to ball
  • Increased Biplane's ball shot speed (16.5 -> 17.2)
  • Increased Miranda's ball shot speed (16.8 -> 17)
  • Decreased Loopy's speed while carrying the ball (79% -> 78%)

  • addBan (IP or VaporID) (duration) (time-unit) (reason) -- for banning players that aren't currently on the server
  • serverWhisper (nickname) (message) -- allows the server to send a message to a single player

Award Screen:
  • Added "You..." stat box beneath MVP boxes for comparison
  • Updated categories to display additional information
Server List:
  • Server rows now refresh upon selection
  • Added filter option "Level Appropriate" -- excludes servers that don't allow players in your level range
Helper Text:
  • Explodet: "Press F to launch a rocket, then press F again to detonate it."
  • Biplane: "Press F and D simultaneously to fire both weapons at once."
  • Miranda: "Miranda's forward warp (hold UP) damages enemies in its path."
Miscellaneous:
  • Added "Map Editor" and "Server Launcher" links to the main menu
  • Adjusted packet loss tracking for max ping kick detection
