Good Afternoon,

Studio Sirens remains dedicated to providing updates as issues are being logged or addressed. We are primarily utilizing the #「❗」bug-reports」channel on the Official ARK: Aquatica Discord.

We would like to thank the community for continuing to help us make improvements to ARK: Aquatica by reporting issues that have appeared after release.

For the sake of identifying issues, please provide as much information as possible on your report for visibility and accurate reporting (ie: version number, platform and all applicable logs or information).

Current top priority issues:
  • Continued FPS and Level Optimization

  • Server Transfers for Official Servers

  • Core Functionality

In the meantime, the ‘preaquatica’ branch will remain available.

Increased rates have been enabled on weekends for official servers!

Last week, the team was able to release an update to the official ASE Devkit on the Epic Games Store. Allowing mod creators to update their mods to the latest version if needed for v360+.

The team is aware of long loading times on fresh clients related to primalgamedata, this is a complex issue that is considered a work in progress.

  • Fixed snapping issues with Large Metal Walls

Dino/Tame Fixes
  • Fixed a crash related to uploading dinos without Augments

  • Fixed dinos losing their pressure acclimation when stasised for extended periods of time

  • Fixed issues with the Alpha Abyssal Rex

Other Fixes
  • Fixed items not being given to nearby player inventories on dino death when an amount isn’t specified

  • Added Oil and Manganese to the Boiling Sea

  • Fixed Kato and Ingrid Explorer Notes not being sorted in the correct order

  • Fixed Aquatica artifact crates using the incorrect VFX

  • Fixed a typo in Pygocentrus Trophy names

  • Addressed general issue in the level (floating foliage, lava volumes)

2X rates have been enabled on weekends for official servers!

We would like to acknowledge and thank our modding community for the extended wait on the updated DevKit. Today, we will be releasing the updated DevKit on the Epic Games Store platform. This will provide the tools needed to tackle compatibility issues for affected mods on the latest version of ARK: Survival Evolved.

From today’s update and forward, to maintain crossplay and prevent version mismatching, we will be looking to patch ARK: Survival Evolved on Steam and the Epic Games Store simultaneously.

The team is aware of long loading times on fresh clients related to primalgamedata, this is a complex issue that is considered a work in progress.

Patch notes v360.17

Structure Fixes
  • Fixed snapping issues with Large Pearl Walls

  • Added new structures: Pearl Triangle Floating Foundation and Tek Triangle Floating Foundation

  • Fixed not being able to snap structures over or in very deep water

Dino/Tame Fixes
  • Fixed issues with Pygocentrus ascension

  • Increased amount of Element received when defeating Vulcanithys and Fractalis

  • Fixed not being able to obtain 100% imprint when raising Vulcanite babies

  • Fixed Monodon not receiving credit when killing a target with their ranged beam attack

  • Restored dino class data in cryopods that were “Raptorized” and not able to be deployed

Other Fixes
  • Updated localization for Aquatica items/dinosaurs for the following languages: Chinese Traditional, Chinese Simplified

  • Addressed several map mesh holes and collision issues

  • Underwater air-pockets now utilize the same water pressure zones as the surrounding water

Patch notes (v360.14)

General Notes:
  • Added server setting to control the ability to place Floating Foundations in air

    • In GameUserSettings.ini, under the ServerSettings section: PreventFloatingFoundationsInAir=True

    • The Floating Foundations setting is enabled by default, the command line above would disable this setting.

  • Fixed Floating Foundations being placeable too high above the ground when not underwater

  • Fixed not being able to place Cannons on non-Aquatica maps

  • Border walls no longer causing random deaths

  • Fixed various foliage and mesh hole issues

  • Continued FPS optimization

Dinos/Tames Fixes:
  • Fixed being able to place structures on Ocepechelon saddles

  • Fixed water dinos not being able to target Cymathoa

  • Fixed Abyssal dinos losing their Underwater Walking ability on game restarts

  • Dinos who were not intended to be able to equip infected barnacles by design are now unable to equip them.

Patch notes for today’s update: v360.12 + v360.13

All fixes from Patch Version 360.12 reinstated, notes below:

Dinos/Tames Fixes:

  • Fixed Parasaur not being able to equip augments

  • Increased stats of Malleocephalus, Seahorse, Takifugu, and Tiktaalik

  • Fixed Riftcrawlers being able to mate

  • Increased Abyssal dino swim speed

Boss Updates:

  • Multiple fixes and adjustments to the Pygocentrus boss fight

  • Fixed instantly getting killed when teleporting into the Vulcanithys Arena

Rift Fixes and Improvements:

  • Updated Rift spawned dino’s names to make them more identifiable

  • Fixed Rifts not giving nearby players and tamed dinos XP on successful completion 

  • Fixed Rifts not giving nearby players Element and items on successful completion 

  • Improved loot quality in Rift Supply Crates

  • Reduced the time between dino spawns in the Greater Rift

Notes for Patch v360.13
  • Engine issues in relation to mods have been resolved for mods that the team has been made aware of.

  • Remaining mods with issues likely require an update given content changes with Aquatica with an updated Devkit included in a future update. Please report additional concerns about mods not functioning related to an engine issue to the Aquatica Discord or the ARK Modding Community Discord.

  • Potential fix for dinos/vehicles disappearing after game restart. Please report any subsequent issues with this to the Aquatica Discord thread here.

  • Fixed dinos in cryopods losing their class references after game restart

    • Note: This stops it from happening to newly cryopoded dinos, but does not fix ones that are already “raptorized”

  • An initial fix for server character transfers for unofficial servers is being introduced. Official server transfers will be enabled after additional testing.

    • A specific chat for this fix has been added onto the Discord server, under #「💬」server-transfers-chat. Utilize this chat as a way to not only help each other but help log the issues related to transfers if issues appear.

  • Increased chance of volcano supply crates being higher quality

  • Fixed volcano supply crate vfx persisting after the supply crate is gone

  • Added some missing pain volumes to lava

We are aware of issues with Epic Games servers.
Updates are in progress. With today’s patch, launch with -crossplay parameter to support EGS builds connecting to the game (non-Aquatica) so that it is ready once the EGS client updates.

Patch Notes for today’s update (v360.11)
Game Engine Fixes:
  • Partial engine fix in relation to disappearing dinos/ships/cryopod issues

  • Engine fix implemented to allow more mods to load (e.g. Structures +, etc.)

  • Note: Players may experience extended loading times with this update in relation to the game engine fix being implemented today, the developers did take notice during testing and noted that the loading times aren’t as long as the previous primalgamedata issue.

Server Fixes:
  • Added Linux binaries


Dinos/Tames Fixes:
  • Known issue: Some players/dinos may die instantly when entering Vulcanithys Arena. This is being looked into for a solution.

  • Mantis can now be tamed using Monodon Horns

  • Fixed Homarus not being able to mate underwater

  • Fixed not being able to tame Riftcrawlers

  • Fixed Takifugu torpedo immediately exploding when launched

  • Fixed tamed Tridacna not eating spoiled meat and worms

  • Broth of Atlan can now be consumed by dinos and increased the time from 3 to 15 minutes

  • Water Wyvern balancing and fixes, including: increased stats and damage, added a speed boost when diving into water, increased water pressure acclimation speed, and removed wyvern milk as a cuddle food

  • Fixed an issue when equipping a Dakosaurus with a Pumpkin Helmet

  • Fixed Onchopristis swimming above the surface of the water

  • Added Mudpuppy grab swim sprinting and reduced normal grab swim speed

  • Modified Mudpuppy shoulder mounted pose

  • Fixed issues with Aquatica torches being equipped to saddles

  • Fixed an issue that would cause map-wide dino overspawning in singleplayer (recommend doing a wild dino wipe to clear out old spawns using console command: destroywilddinos)

  • Fixed a crash related to invalid dinos

  • Fixed some fish species looking bloody when they are undamaged


Structure Fixes:
  • Fixed Tek Floating Foundations having stone structure settings instead of Tek settings

  • Fixed Metal Stairs collision

  • Fixed Pearl Vacuum Compartments having Tek structure settings instead of stone

  • Fixed Tek Ocean Platforms not being placeable

  • Floating Foundations can now be placed in air

  • Fixed an issue with the auto open on Aquatica Tek doors

The next game engine update, planned to allow more mods to load, is currently delayed due to compilations. Rather than introduce new issues, we will delay the game engine update until a solution is found. We will continue testing to be able to release the next update in full soon.
