Pourquoi choisir l'accès anticipé ?

« We want to create a truly useful tool for competitive sailors and to achieve that, we believe it’s the best to work closely with innovators and early adopters in the sailing community.

We’ve experience in releasing Early Access titles on Steam ( see VR Regatta ) and we believe the nature of this project makes it a perfect fit for Early Access model. »

Combien de temps environ ce logiciel sera-t-il en Accès anticipé ?

« 6-24 months depending on community needs and involvement. »

En quoi la version finale sera-t-elle différente de la version en accès anticipé ?

« Initial Early Access version will be based on a core from VR Regatta. On that foundation are planning to work on following features:

  • Adding more sail controls ( like cunningham and the boom vang ) to the boat.
  • Improving the physics model, including sailboat inertia, capsizing, etc.
  • Improving AI of the opponent sailboats to make interactions on the race course more realistic
  • Adding full implementation of international racing rules

The whole point of releasing in Early Access is to work with the community on the actual features based on the needs of real life sailors. We will be interacting with users to learn what should be implemented to make the tool useful. »

« It's a sail-able sandbox, with the level of sailing realism similar to VR Regatta. »

« We will adjust the price based on the community up-take of the product.

Our aim is to make the project self-sustainable, which means we may need to increase the price if the product is really niche, but we hope to be able to reduce the price if enough people buy in. »

In 2016 MarineVerse released the first virtual reality sailing experience available on Steam - VR Regatta. Initially released as Early Access, VR Regatta evolved to be a well received, unique experience gently introducing countless gamers to the world of virtual reality sailing.

While developing VR Regatta, we made many design decisions making the game accessible to non-sailors. With Sailboat Racing Training ( SRT ), we are focusing exclusively on sailors interested in improving their real life racing performance. With this laser focus, we will be making design choices to create a truly useful tool that will help you get better at racing!
