What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access gives us (the developers) the opportunity to work directly with our community and make changes to Cepheus Protocol (CP) quickly and efficiently. We strive to make CP a rewarding experience for those wishing to support its development. Reviewing user feedback gives us incredible insight on what elements of the game work, what needs improvement, and what should be removed.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to be in Early Access for as long as needed based on a continual engagement with our community on what they feel is required. We will also be working towards our milestones, which are set yearly till we deem we are ready for a full release out of EA.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The final version will include a more refined Pandemic Mode, a large open world, combat doctrines, new enemy types, a polished game featuring enhanced textures, particles and weather effects, Co-op, and factions. We also continue to work on optimizing CP to ensure the game runs smoothly on as many PCs as possible.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“You can use the newly revised base building systems, train and recruit fighters based on your preferences, and customize their weapon as you progress. Players can build anywhere they want across four large maps featured in Pandemic Mode while deploying six combat classes and vehicles, including land and air. Each class can be leveled up to five, which improves their health and accuracy as they become more accustomed to the battle they must fight.

Your primary goal will be to track down Patient Zero and stop her before she spreads the virus beyond containment, all the while you are hunted by those infected by the Pangu Virus, all of whom have turned into monstrous creatures. With each passing day, new infected types begin to populate the map, as Patient Zero gains control of more regions and her numbers grow. These special infected are more ruthless, powerful, and determined to crush your defense if you don’t act quickly.

With XP earned by defeating the infected, players can spec into one of three doctrines, which provide additional firepower, vehicles, and defense options.

With replayability and challenging gameplay at its core, players must be mindful of the environment and the battlefield's changing nature.

You will have to use all the tools in your arsenal to research the virus and seek out Patient Zero, whose mastery over the virus grows with each victim she infects. Stopping her is paramount, or a city of millions could be lost.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features. Game Price will increase after our polish stages during February-March of 2022.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Communication with our community is our top priority – it is one of the main reasons we wanted to launch in Early Access. We want to talk to you and hear your questions, concerns, suggestions, and feedback. You can reach out to us on social media (Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook), on Steam, and by email at”

A game that caught me off guard with how freaking fantastic it is, it runs fairly darn well, is pretty intense and reminds me quite a bit of They Are Billions just in a more modern world.

I'm really into Tower Defense games and this one is a great creation. It keeps you easily entertained. The sounds and graphics are decent. It's still in E.A and it looks pretty good so far. ~8.2/10

Cepheus gameplay is a unique blend of RTS with a real tower defense feel. 100% a strong learning curve to master the tactical skills layered across the six different character classes. Check it out!

Cepheus Protocol Dev Update #13

Cepheus Protocol Dev Update #12

About This Game

The Pangu Virus has been unleashed in San Francisco, turning thousands of innocent lives into mindless beasts that feel no pain and have no fear of death. With each passing hour, the Pangu Virus evolves, creating new and ever more horrific mutations with one goal in mind… Spread.

You are Captain Winter, a military officer fighting alongside the Center for Epidemic Research and Control(CERC). With a massive arsenal and the resources of the US Government behind it, you and CERC will stop at nothing to ensure the terror of the Pangu Virus does not escalate beyond containment, even if a whole city and millions of lives must be sacrificed.
  • Cepheus Protocol is inspired by classic RTS games such as Company of Heroes and World in Conflict, alongside the book World War Z.
  • Survive if you can against a relentless enemy that evolves and grows more powerful with each day.
  • Build specialized units from a variety of bases that can be placed anywhere in the open-world map.
  • Battle those infected by the Pangu Virus across four open-world islands, featuring unique and challenging environments.
  • Choose from three combat tiers that play to your style. Each tier has specialized units, equipment, and weaponry.
  • Engage a relentless horde of infected which numbers grow larger and stronger with each territory captured as you battle for control of San Francisco.
  • Hunt Patient Zero, who races across the city seizing territory. Each capture zone increases her population as the virus spreads and possesses all organic matter.
  • Form an alliance or side against the Anarchist and Police factions, which struggle to survive among the madness that has enveloped San Francisco.

Note: Steam Remote Play is for allowing your friends to try out the game if you already have purchased it. It's not for online co-op: that is is planned in the current roadmap, but is not complete yet
