What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Well if there's one pattern that I've seen from making space themed games, it's that they take a ton of work to make correctly. I would like to put the game out there so that it can be played, and that I can start collecting feedback and shaping the experience, but at the same time I wanted it to be crystal clear that I was by no means "done" with the game. So while this will be a playable game at early release, there are a lot of expansions I'd like to slowly roll out over the course of the games lifetime.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“One year from the early access release date, this is my best guess, though historically it usually takes about 6-8 months for one of my games to get all (or most) of the features in that I wanted, and this game is quite a bit more ambitious that those games.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“At the start of the release, the game will have only the bare basics of the gameplay I was originally looking to put in the game, which is to say, a space combat game where you can also take and own planets for resources.

With the basic gameplay under wraps, I want to slowly roll out support for a variety of different classes of ships to purchase, each with their own roles, including larger capitol ships (which at one point we might even walk around in).
I also want to bring in a ranking system, whereas players can gain ranks while playing the game which will allow them access to buy the higher tiers of ships, and even give orders to other lower ranking players on their team.
One final thing I'd like to bring into the game is a variety of more resources, and different locations where they can be mined. These would allow the construction and purchase of the afformentioned craft.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At the time of this writing, the core gameplay is there, with all 3 factions being in the game, but each faction only has one fighter ship at this time, so it's very much a basic bare-bones version of what I'd like to see.
So it's a game you can play with your friends and fight over galactic territory, not a whole lot of variation in the gameplay yet though.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will increase slightly as the game becomes more and more fleshed out, although it won't go up drastically.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“You can look through my other steam game pages. I constantly am reading and responding to feedback from people on my previous games.
I definitely read it and care, and it has helped me to change the direction of games that I make. I always try to be true to the core game design I was going for, but am very attentive to quality of life suggestions and ideas for additional content.”

About This Game

This is a bit of a concept piece. You start each game in a randomly generated solar system, and then are free to either fly around it or try to conquer it. There are other factions that will also be vying for control of the system (either with real players or just AI) and if you want to win, you'll need to secure your own territory and build bases of operations.

So it's a space combat game with the twist that you are also able to take and lose planets along your path to system domination!
