Why Early Access?

“Short Circuit VR is intended to be an educational tool for learning basic electronics.

We are currently planning on making a desktop version first so that it will be a lot more accessible for anyone who'd like to learn basic electronics.

That's why we are looking for people to interview and get to know how they teach/learn electronics and if there are certain problems they experience while doing that.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are still not sure whether we can continue working on this project. The current approximate time for Short Circuit VR to be in Early Access is till December 2019.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We hope that the full version will be used as a helpful learning tool for students, teachers and hobbyists. There are a lot of fun ideas we would love to implement but we're not sure if we will continue working on Short Circuit VR yet.”

“While there’s a lot that can change in the future, it currently includes the basic features we would like to see in our final version (build your own electronic projects, get feedback, complete challenges, …).

Main features


Spawn components
The player can spawn electronic components to build custom circuits. Here’s a list of components currently available:
  • Wires
  • Batteries (1.5V, 3V, 9V)
  • Resistors
  • Breadboard
  • Diode
  • LEDs (red, green, blue)
  • Slide switch
  • Pushbutton
  • Potentiometers
  • 7 Segment display (common cathode)
  • Photoresistor
  • Buzzers
  • DC motor
  • Protoboard



Receive feedback

Get information about circuit components values (voltage, current, voltage drop, resistance, …) when hovering over them with the controller. Easily detect errors in your circuit as you’ll get a warning when doing something wrong (short circuit, open circuit, too much current, …).



Complete challenges

The game includes several challenges to learn how to work with the basic components. Players will get a challenge description, a circuit diagram and some extra information to help them get started.

Save your work

Short Circuit VR includes 10 save slots where you can save your progress in. It also gives you the ability to load save files from other users or save files downloaded from our website.


Import custom models

Users can import their own custom 3D models (.obj files) with a material. These models can be imported during gameplay to customise your projects.
