What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want early feedback on our game idea and its implementation in order to take this into account during development and create the best possible game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are aiming for a full release within one year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version, we are planning 2 more themes and a game time of 2 hours in fast forward. We are also considering changing the game to a third-person view. However, this has not yet been decided and will be decided during development. We also want to experiment with a sandbox mode, where the player can manage, design, and thematize his own museum. However, this is only a conceptual idea that has not yet been tested.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently 1 of 3 planned thematic areas are included with a estimated playtime of one hour, the pirate theme. Here you can find corresponding thematic items on 4 islands. This contains all the basic functions and mechanics that will definitely be included in the final game, but some of them still need some adjustments to improve the game experience.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes we plan to gradually increase the price as we release more content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want to involve the community as much as possible in the development process. We offer a Discord Server where you can communicate directly with the developers.

Besides the communication channels, we want to give interested people a direct insight into the development, this will be done in the form of Q&A in the Livestream but also via DevBlogs. We will also set up several branches in Steam:

Development status (unstable):
Here we will regularly publish our current progress ( as long there is something to play)
Possible release candidate:
This branch is always released shortly before an update where a possible test candidate is tested. In this branch, bugs can still exist and the main focus is to resolve them all to get a bug free live release.”

About This Game

In The Curator you slip into the role of a curator who is responsible for a collection or exhibition in a museum. Your task is to gather and complete the museum's collection. In the first chapter, you take care of the Pirate Collection. In disguise, you will be sent back in time to search for the exhibits.

Journey to different areas

Travel with map and shovel to different areas and search for the items for the exhibition. You can use visual and audio feedback to find the excavation site. If you are close enough, the location is marked with an X.

Unlock objects in the museum

Once you have found all the sights and objects, you can travel back to the museum and exhibit them there. Once you have unlocked a room, access to the next room will be unlocked, where new items will be waiting for you.
