What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Our mission is to create the Ultimate Super-Boot Racing Game in fully Physics-Based world.

In order to achieve this goal we have spent the last 3 years developing our unique Physics-Based Technology and fine tuning every aspect of the game and just right now we find ourselfs at the end of something we internally call "Phase 1" - top notch AAA quality highly replayable offline multiplayer game with huge emphasis on online competition, player freedom, choice and tactics.

Our tight community helped us craft a really solid game and we feel ready to open the floodgates to broader audience and invite YOU as well to participate on the game development.

We have chose to go into Early Access as in order to really succeed in our mission - to create the Ultimate Super-Boot Racing Game - we need as much of REAL, CRUEL and RUTHLESS feedback as we can get and Early Access is just the perfect tool for that!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to support the game for as long as it is needed. This is our mission, this is our passion. Rather than creating a single dead end product we would love to develop a living platform and support it for as long as it is necessary.

The Early Access time frame should be around 1 year, after that we plan to further develop and support the game only without the "Early Access" tag.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“With upcoming updates you will get:

- new gameplay features (hover-board, new AIs and new BOSSes)
- level editor (oh boy, we can't wait for what you come up with!!)
- new online & direct multiplayer features
- new social features
- challenges and regular events

Also plenty of new content in terms of levels, graphics, new environments / bioms and possibly even character skins and accessories”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game and the content you get in our Early Access can almost be considered finished. The game is definitely not broken or buggy. During the upcoming months we will be mostly only adding new features and more content, while you are already enjoying the full blown Ricky Runner experience.

What we currently have in more detail:

- The game is 99.99% stable, we don't experience any crashes.
- The game is almost bug free - definitely no blockers.
- The Physics technology is 99% ready.
- The core movement system is 99% ready. We have a fully functioning base locomotion, wall running, packing in and sliding.
- 4 unique environments (+ 1 extra which is secret right now)
- We blew past our expectations and the very first Early Access build features over 30 final quality levels and on top of that one BOSS fight with giant Dyno!
- Fully implemented scoring system
- Online leaderboards
- Partial controller support
- Professional sound design”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will increase as the content and features do.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Our company culture is build on Community & Support. You can expect regular updates and ton of back and forth discussion. We believe the game is only as strong as it's community (and the amount of coffee delivered to our programmer).

There is a button in the main menu that brings you directly to our community HUB.
The report bug tool (accessible directly from the pause menu) allows us for quick bug reporting - we can instantly see your replay and fix /adjust whatever is needed.”

RocketBoots Mania PAX Challenge!

Hope you had a great holiday break and you are ready to jump in to improve your records - because we most certainly are!

There is a couple of major updates waiting for you:

As discussed in the previous updates and on our Discord we have gathered a lot of positive feedback since the Early Access launch, but we also pay close attention to the feedback from the players that decided not to buy our game. The single biggest reason for such a mistake (not buying our game) was the percieved identity mismatch - people either thought this is an endless runner (because of the old name "Ricky Runner" or they thought its an adventure game for kids (because of the cheerful and cute graphics). We are sure that with the new name RocketBoots Mania and the new art direction, no one will be mistaken this is a serious competitive title. Just you wait till you see our new character Zoe in action! Some sneak peak can alrady be seen on our Discord.

We are thrilled about your feedback from the Xmas challenge and since we are going to PAX South we wanted to show off and decided to bring you a brand new and even better challenge. This one is actually based off a special Multiplayer preview map called "Shuffle" which is also included in this update and it is accessible through the Dev Area directly from main menu. Let us know how you like both the challenge and the Shuffle - multiplayer preview. Both of these maps feature a new mechanic / feature and that is the Jump pad.

Holding the slide/pack button [SHIFT] before or while wallrunning cancels climb. More detailed info on this one in our recent blog post.

  • RocketBoots Mania indentity upgrade
  • PAX Challenge
  • Multiplayer preview arena - Shuffle
  • Holding shift before or while wallrunning cancels climb
  • New feature: Jump pads
  • Minor bug fixing

Can't wait for your feedback Runners! Stay strong!

About This Game

Both beginners and hardcore players can master multiple techniques to gain speed. A "b-hop" will charge you up the quickest and yep, this is KEYBOARD and MOUSE type of game!

Building up the momentum is rather easy, keeping it is the real challenge. Especially when trying to avoid the deadly traps, complex obstacles and numerous enemies populating the dynamic physics-based environment.

There is no set order of checkpoints you need to run through, you come up with your own unique game plan, strategy and tactics how to approach the level, but do you have the skill to pull it off?

Together with our awesome DISCORD COMMUNITY we love to explore how we can squeeze as much juice from the technology as possible. We are constantly coming up with new fun game modes which are presented in the form of regular challenges for the whole community to enjoy.

  • Carefully designed gameplay as the beating heart of the game
  • High replayability value – run, score, compete, find a better path, repeat
  • A fine example of an “easy to learn, hard to master” game
  • Induces a strong “just one more round” syndrome
  • A never-ending “tug of war” between friends and strangers within an awesome online community
  • Complete freedom of movement and gameplay style choice
  • Official leaderboards

  • 99.9% stable, bug-free experience
  • 30+ final quality fully enjoyable levels in our unique physics-based world and 1 BOSS fight
  • Regular events and challenges coming usually twice a month

  • Level Editor + Steam Workshop
  • Online race mode - multiple players competing in an arena at the same time + rewards
  • Player profile with stats, country, XP points, badges and rewards
  • Player friend lists
  • Achievements
  • Speedrun mode
