Why Early Access?

“Vellum is all about discovery - both in the game itself and throughout its development. Early Access lets us invite the community into that discovery process.
As players make new connections, develop preferences, and share their stories from the game - we'll be learning, listening, and iterating on Vellum. We're confident that we'll write the best edition of Vellum, together.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Vellum to be full-release ready by the end of 2024. That said, the appetite of the community may evolve alongside the game and shift that expected timeline.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan for the full version of Vellum to have a wide spectrum of Signature Inks, Tomes, Scribe Spells, Torn Bosses, Elites, and enemy upgrades.
Player progression and secondary features will also continue to grow based on community feedback. We plan to make many more discoveries along the way.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Early Access will begin with the core gameplay loops and a wide variety of content pillars, all multiplayer-ready! Early Access Player loadouts will be able to use 4 Signature Ink Colors and 8 Spells (each with many game-changing upgrades). Player progression via Bindings (difficulty modifiers), 5+ Bosses, 100+ enemy upgrades, and 8+ Tomes will also be in Early Access at launch.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We have no plans to alter pricing during and after Early Access. Based on community interest, it could be possible to see larger, paid DLC, some time after Vellum reaches full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to have very active engagement with the community via Discord. We want to use our communication with players to help us refine and better our designs and content.

Player feedback becomes a huge part of that goal - personal stories, suggestions, questions, polls, content, and many other media all help us take stock of where the game is and where we all want to take it. With a focus on feedback tooling and open communication, we're driven to establish clear relationships between community feedback and Vellum's evolution.”
