What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I’m L_Draven, a stand-alone indie game developer. I’m creating Deck Hunter with the help of occasional collaborations, but I’m carrying the burden of the whole game alone. This is why I prefer to publish Deck Hunter on Early Access. I need all your support to create the game that you are really waiting for.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Deck Hunter is a new project based on a previous card game that I was working on. For this reason, the main game mechanics are totally operational. I think the game will be in Early Access for about 12 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“There is still a lot of work to do. The World of Klanojh consists of eight different areas waiting to be unlocked and explored. I’ll add new areas with upcoming updates. The number of cards is another important feature for the updates. New cards could be added. And maybe new characters from different clans. And last but not least, I will add armor pieces as trophies the players can find within the large map. To sum it up, I believe in the engagement of the community to make Deck Hunter possible.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of the EA version is:
  • 127 cards
  • One area to explore (Forest)
  • The Forge
  • 30 different enemies

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I want to reward the players that believed and supported Deck Hunter from the beginning, so the game will have a lower price on the first stages of Early Access. The full release version will have a higher price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“As I said before, I want to involve the community in the development process from the beginning. It means feedback, balancing, new cards proposals, items, enemy suggestions, and so on!”

COMMUNITY UPDATE 3.0 - THE SPECIAL ONE

Hi Deck Hunters!!
The E3 is over and now is time to sharpen your sword and begin a new adventure with Avery!
I've read all your feedback and ideas to improve the game, and some of them are implemented in this new update. I'm so happy about the game reception and obviously is thank to you! Deck Hunters, you rock!!
I'm so proud of this new update, and I'm pretty sure that now the game experience is better than before. I hope you can enjoy the game with this new update and we can walk together in this early access, improving the game.
Of course, any feedback is welcome (in the feedback topic, please). Finally, if you want to support (more) this project, please post a review (if you don't do it yet).

UPDATE CONTENT:

Balancing cards searching a new grateful combat experience
For example:
  • Strike = Deal 5
  • Defender = Def 5

New starting set cards:
  • 6 Strike
  • 6 Defender
  • 1 Minor Healing instead Downgrade card

I reviewed all upgraded cards to don't penalize the upgrading experience. Now evolved cards are better than the basic version. In order to that, the upgraded cost are now reviewed.

Rebalancing all enemy combat system to get the experience little less unfair.
Reconceptualized all the enemy map system to have a better progression feeling during the game.

New final boss skills to offer a deeper combat experience.

New elements in the map.
  • If you are in a started game: You must complete your current area to enjoy these new features.
  • If you start a new game: You’ll enjoy the new map from the beginning.

Discard well = You can remove 1 to 3 cards of your deck
Chest = Resources
Spin = Now outside of the Rest Area
Rest Area = Recovery life / Remove 1 card of your deck

Balancing the cost of the armors (resources) and the effects.

New system outfit generator for enemies only.
I’ve developed a new algorithm to create different combinations randomly for the enemies outfit. In this update, you can see this new feature in the Skeletons. The rest of the enemies will be available in future updates.

FIXED: Avery LVL-0 Issue. (this fix is not a retroactive action. If you have Avery Lvl-0 in your current game, you must reset your profile)
FIXED: Magic effects didn’t work correctly.
FIXED: Improved the effects stack execution flow for a better experience.
FIXED: Ent Boss infobox works correctly now.
FIXED: Removed close button in Alchemy after forging the new card.
FIXED: Loot crashes.

ADDED: Now you can show/hide the legend in the map.

REVIEWED: Infobox & Cards effects. (English version only)
REVIEWED: Player level values.

Explanatory note: Some of you have commented about the name of the Bosses as a typo. Is not a mistake. As you can imagine, I don’t have the rights of this known names, so "these mistakes" is my special tribute.

About This Game

Deck Hunter is a roguelike card game. The World of Klanojh has been cursed by Glatta, the Goddess of Anger. Build your deck, make combos, defeat fantasy creatures and help Avery to face the evil and restore the balance!

The World of Klanojh

Help Avery to face her destiny and fight against the forces of evil in an eternal battle for balance. Be the first of the hunters to find the armor to defeat Glatta. Rewrite your past fighting the present. Restore the order and the honor lost after the Clans War, which established a new status in the World of Klanojh where the Hunters became the new hope.

Explore the past of Avery while she discovers her master, get her youth alliances and make beginner mistakes. Help to restore the peace in a world threatened by the tyranny of the Goddess of Anger, Glatta.

Unleash the deck power

Deck Hunter is a deck builder card game, easy to play hard to master. Try to defeat Glatta and her enemy hordes combining attack, defense and spells cards. Unlock armors to increase the power of your deck.

Every game will be different from the previous one. Explore the map of the World of Klanojh to unlock hidden areas and discover all the secrets of this mysterious world. Win the challenge before other Hunter to become the first one who defeats Glatta. Reach the absolute power of the cards and upgrade them to hold a destructive power deck.

Cute but Savage

The World of Klanojh consists of different areas where each one has its own flora and wildlife. Aesthetically, every area represents the essence of their creatures, monsters and dangers and the clan that rules the area. The World of Klanojh combines the tradition of the clans in a large land to explore for the Hunters, but not all of them are ready to do it. Get lost in the Forest or the Mountains to defeat new creatures while using your cards wisely. Deck Hunter presents an accurate fantasy cartoon style to bring the players to the World of Klanojh. Don’t doze off because of this “cute” visual style or you’ll bite the dust.
