Why Early Access?

DASH has one clear goal: to create a game based on user generated content. The entire game is designed around building it from the ground with the community, for the community which is what we've been doing since February 2018. An Early Access release will bring the development even closer to the players, feedback will be vital. Early Access is an exciting and unpredictable landscape, maximizing development and community!!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

DASH will be in the state of Early Access for 3-5 months including updates with fixes and implementations.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The final launch includes a fully matured program which will have a large set of heroes, blocksets, backgrounds, sounds and options when editing levels. We wish to create this content with the community during Early Access - a process in which not all things are implemented yet, and the game still contains bugs and errors.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Right now you are able to train your skills, build and edit levels with around 20 different tiles, test and play levels (local or server), play against a friend in the local multi-player mode and customize your Hero and story. You are able to upload your content to the DASH Workshop and able to download content from the DASH Workshop.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“It will be slightly cheaper to join the DASHers during Early Access. The price is set in order to make sure only dedicated players are among the first and core group. All updates will be free with no in-game purchases or micro transactions. The price of the final game will be higher than during Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We wish to include the community in every little bit of the way. We invite all who is interested to visit the game's website, support the community hub on Steam, join the Discord and check out the dev streams on Twitch. On these channels all the development and subjects of implementation will be presented. Being an Early Access player means: being the first to influence the base game, new game tiles and core community. We urge all the users to create, share and stream the created content already now. We hope the good brains of the community will compete, interact and break the game in ways we could have NEVER imagined. We're looking forward to meeting the community! DASH ON!”

New build is live! Flying enemy and mini map!

Happy Monday DASHers! Another patch (1001 p. 12) Early Access test build is live now on Steam

- Introducing the Slapbat! A new flying enemy of the King Slap family :slap: (currently with a bug where you are invisible whilst touching them - *have fun with this till next update!! It's sort of inspiring...*)
- New inspiring mini map when creating
- World Record replay ghost's alpha (transparency) is relative to player distance
- New building cursor sound effects to create more variation in the editor

New pre-EA build live with new implementations!

Happy Friday DASHers! A new alpha pre-Early Access build is live now!

We are continuing from the alpha branch which soon will be changed to clean Early Access branch (EA) meaning new folders and the game resetting your medals and levels (this build doesn't)

UPDATES:

- New entirely fresh and DASHingly *fast* compression system! No more waiting time on long levels or reruns!
- Make levels with up to 1000 tiles (as we are getting closer to endless tiles)
- New World Record ghost: Watch the fastes player's run! (follow the ghost by pressing 'D' or R2 on the controller)
- Take screenshot where you wish in the level prior to saving it
- New Main Menu design
- New head-bounce-counts-as-ground-check mechanic update!
- and more!

We still have a long a** list of errors which we are going through so worry not - more polish and fixing is going on, on a daily basis :bdfireeyes:

The build is going through some rough changes and there might be some errors which is temporary. Feel free to play it and report any major issues you're experiencing!

If you wish to help test the new build in its entirety, please go to your local appData folder and erase all content (levels, player data etc)

Updates will expand the catalogue of heroes, blocksets, backgrounds, etc. The player's medals, achievements and XP will be rewarded with new unlocks, passes and assets. The game will start slow, integrating the expansions over time and by the final launch DASH will contain the optimized and most wanted features, tested and solidified by the community of DASHers!
