What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We are using Early Access because we want to take players on a journey through the development of Newfound Courage, starting with part one and two. The community and our supporters have so far provided our team with invaluable feedback, so releasing the game into Early Access will help us create a better game overall.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“At this moment we are aiming for a full release by February or March, 2019.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“What we are releasing to Early Access at this stage is part one and two of a three part story. The final version of the game will of course include all three parts of the story. We plan on releasing part three into Early Access when it reaches a reasonable level of polish, and it will incorporate feedback from the Early Access part one and two.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game currently consists of the first (roughly) 2 hours of gameplay. This includes puzzles, tasks and quests, as well as, a significant amount of story. The game is stable and has no game breaking bugs. The development is still in progress however, so there is a chance that issues will occur in our current build and in creating the third part of the game.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We expect that the game will have a higher price on release than during Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We run a Discord sever where our community can directly contact the games developers in order to provide feedback at any time. Not every idea will be implemented into the game. However, we do respect every ones opinions and will always work to make sure we are doing the best thing for the community, the game and its story.”

Patch notes: v0.2.1

Improvements
* We've implemented a Chapter Select. I'm not sure if this functionality will be in the final game, but it will be useful for Early Access. I'm hoping no one ever loses a save again, but realistically, while the game is still being built these things can happen.
* Deadworld has had some improvements to the art. There is more junk around, and the green liquid now flows.
* The game should now force a change to your resolution to be at the ideal resolution for the game
* You are now told when you've progressed from one chapter to the next
* Solve now holds one of the lanterns you picked up

Bug resolutions
* Resolved issues with Hotspots sometimes being disabled when they shouldn't be, ruining EVERYTHING.
* Jake was missing in Elsewhere for some Mac users, if he's not back I'm gonna ring his mum. But he should be back.
* Spelling mistakes, big ups to Orlando for somehow finding a double space that I didn't even know was there.
* In the Right Wing corridor in the Vault, you could walk on top of a bookcase. Alex, unfortunately, does not have that particular superpower.
* Rieko no longer reads her book instead of talking to you during the last cutscene in Deadworld
* Resolved a save bug in the Classroom
* Siena told you, you'd finished recovering her sweets before she should have. That liar.

Known Issues
* Play in Window has stopped working.
* Saves sometimes stop working

Part II and Mac Support

Hi there,

Just a quick note to let you know that Part II is now available on Mac and Windows!

There is a chance that your save files may not have survived. Sorry in advance if this affects you. Pretty soon we will enable you to skip between the parts, so if you don't want to replay Part I in order to play Part II just wait a little longer and you won't have to.

Also, just a reminder that we are in Early Access, so please let me know if you experience any bugs or find any spelling/grammar mistakes. My team and I do our best to pick these up, but some always end up slipping through.

We've made countless improvements to the experience based on your feedback so far, however, there are still a few things outstanding:

- The menus and some scenes behave strangely on some screen sizes (we're working on supporting more screen sizes) - in the meantime, if you set your screen resolution to 1920x1080 you won't have a problem.
- We have yet to implement gamepad support or mouseless play, we do plan on working on this soon
- There are some bugs in the save / load system right now when loading games from Part I. We're not sure of the cause of this yet but are investigating.

Thanks so much, everyone, and just a reminder we have a very lively Discord channel if you'd like to join the conversation or even speak with me directly: https://discord.gg/UWnes4F
