主人公牧原幸乃出生在一个普通的家庭，目前和她的叔叔牧原洋一住在一起，过着平凡的生活。虽然幸乃是个十分用功的学生，她却总是丢三落四，笨手笨脚，还经常遇到一些倒霉的事情。因为幸乃很喜欢读书的关系，图书馆就成了幸乃的第二个家。有一天，正在幸乃和往常一样认真学习的时候，她的视线和同校的一个男生交汇了。因为害羞的关系，幸乃很快就移开了视线，但是那个男生却对幸乃说：

“你喜欢这本书吗？”

年轻人名叫小鸟游总司。总司是一个非常有魅力的男生，而他正在为了考入心仪的大学入学而努力地学习着。他说他将来想要当一名医生，所以要为了这个梦想而去参加一场非常困难的考试。而幸乃也被他的梦想打动了，所以决心要支持他。越来越有共同语言的两个人总是一起去图书馆读书，他们之间的关系也变得越来越亲密了。终于有一天，总司向幸乃吐露出了自己的心意。幸乃也对总司很有好感，所以她开心地接受了他的告白。总司是个开朗温和的人，但是在恋爱方面却没什么经验，所以他和幸乃虽然亲近，但是却一直保持着纯爱的关系。热爱着总司的幸乃下定了决心：

“为了总司，我也要考进同一所大学才行！”

可是现在的她生活上还需要叔叔照顾。
而她的叔叔是无论如何也不会为她支付那笔昂贵的学费的。

为了能凑够学费，幸乃决定开始打工赚钱。
