What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We learned that making a game that is considered adequate by the community is based not only on the design we created. Listening to the players' responses and suggestions to improve our game is also necessary. Hence, we decided to use Steam Early Access as it would be an excellent place to get feedback from players. Through this process, we hope we can develop this game into a fun simulation for the freshwater fish farming business.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to be in early access around one year or when we get all the needed features in the game implemented. But, it is also possible to take more time if there are features that can be adopted from the players' suggestions to make the game better.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The early access version is currently a free mode version of the core gameplay. We also already implemented the Career Mode but the Career Mode is not the complete version yet.

Features and contents that we plan to implement for the full version are:

  • Create and manage your pond
  • Various commodities to grow
  • Customer relationship level
  • Variety of request you can fulfill to increase customer relationship level
  • Free mode
  • Career Mode
  • Hire workers to help you manage your farm
  • Special event

Other than the features mentioned above, we will adopt some feedback from the players' suggestions.

The full version of the game should have new modes, more features and contents, bug-free, polished, and balanced.
The development of Aquaculture Land will be more towards management games like Kairosoft's games, Megaquarium, or Project Highrise, instead of life-sim games like Stardew Valley or Harvest Moon.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of this version is already playable, where we implemented the core gameplay. You will be able to play in a free mode where existing features and content is unlocked, and you can use this freedom to test the game. Whereas in career mode, you will experience the stories about your journey in building a fish farming business and building relationships with your customers.

This version allows you to experience several features such as creating a fish pond, installing the necessary equipment for the fish and the pond, nurturing fish, and harvesting the fish. You can sell the harvested fish to fulfill the customer orders or wholesale the fish. You can hire some workers to help you manage the farm. You can also make a fishing pond to make some money from the fishing visitors on your farm. Furthermore, you can breed some of your fish to increase your basic fish status and make some superior seed instead. Last but not least, we provided Steam Cloud and Steam Achievement in this version as well.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“During the Early Access, the price may increase as more features and content that is added to the game. Low pricing at the Early Access is one of our way to get a lot of feedback from players as well as the form of thank you for supporting the game. The final price will be considered again if there is feedback or suggestion from the community.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want this game to represent the freshwater fish farming business. Our main focuses are implementing all the listed features that we plan to polish at our best. Hence, we will consider all the feedback provided by players who have been supporting the game. It is also possible that we adopt new features and content from the players, as long as they are within the freshwater fish farming field.

So, feel free to leave your thoughts on Steam Review or Steam Discussion. We will gather your feedback and suggestions from there.”
