What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access is the best way to get players real feedback, while monitoring the activity on the game and see what’s important to you. For instance, we’ll try to integrate player feedback around gameplay, balancing and more. Card games are very needy in terms of balancing so it’ll definitely be useful!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“It will be in Early Access for around 4 to 8 months. It will depend on players’ reception!”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We have a lot of work around the progression curve, ergonomy and balancing. We have a bit of everything to work on the game so this will be massively improved during Early Access. We needed the EA to get players feedback and understand what are the most important topic YOU want to see improved.

We already have a bit of content planned such as new worlds with their specific monsters and cards. We just need more time and feedback to introduce them progressively into the game.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“It has around 2 to 3 hours of gameplay, around 20-40 cards, 3 playable characters and a dozen monsters! It already has a nice replayability that will let you try several game styles.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Probably not! It’s possible that we choose to add more energy and people to the project (and update the price), it depends on players reception.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will organize the discord to welcome everyone’s feedback.”

About This Game

The game draws inspiration from hits like Darkest Dungeon, Slay the Spire and Hand of Fate.

A Long way down is a mash-up between an RPG and a deck-building game. Embody Sam and try escaping this maze where a sneaky and evil mastermind reigns. Let your memories and your choices guide you... but don't fall into darkness.

Craft a deck

The cards you choose will determine how you explore the dungeon and how you defend yourself from the horrors it contains.

Fight your way through the unforgiving monster maze

Great challenges await you as you go deeper into the dungeon. Use your cards and cunning, adapt your playstyle and overcome all enemies.

Gather your party

You’ll meet many fellow adventurers down in the dark - will you gain allies or make enemies?

Traverse the maze

Use your cards to bridge gaps and defy dead ends as you travel through the maze. Rush to escape or take time to explore, the choice is yours.

Upgrade your items and equipment

Collect rewards and use them to grow your power to take on what lies in the depths.

Confront the evil overlord

Every choice you made will affect the final battle - can you defeat the mastermind in its lair?
