What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“With Outlaws of the Old West's development having reached a playable state, we wish to involve the gaming community in the development process. This allows us create a more enjoyable and distinctive game, while building a relationship with our community. We are open to ideas and comments in order to shape the game into the best experience possible.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We estimate Outlaws of the Old West will remain in Early Access for about one year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Currently we plan to add additional biomes, region specific clothing, new PvE engagements, boats, additional wildlife, additional craftable equipment, additional harvesting materials, bounty hunting, additional animations, voiceover, vendors, increased map size and general quality of life and bug fixes.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version establishes the concept for the full release, as it demonstrates numerous elements and core gameplay which are in a playable state. Various systems are in place, such as combat, crafting, customization, home building, trading and harvesting. Players will be able to play online, engage other players, and utilize all types of available resources to craft items and gear to survive. That said, we're also expecting to see some bugs and gameplay balance issues, especially during the beginning stages of Early Access. We will be taking in player feedback to help us make Outlaws of the Old West the best experience it can be.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price of the full release will differ from the Early Access version as there will be a large amount of additional content in the final release as compared to the EA version.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will collect, organize and respond to the player feedback provided. We plan to prioritize constructive criticism and suggestions into our development and will keep players informed about our ongoing development.
