“Our players and fans have been an invaluable resource for us since the beginning of this project. We’ve always tried to get the game into their hands as soon as possible, through attending events, releasing a free demo and sharing development across social media and Discord.

We’re now looking to supercharge the development process and take it to the next level. We believe HyperParasite is a perfect match for Early Access by its own nature. The game features lots of different character classes, items/skills, secrets levels and more, thus making it incredibly re-playable. “The price for the full release is expected to be higher than the price for Early Access.

HyperParasite Weekly Update #16 - Let's Talk About Act 4 & Release Dates



It’s Gamescom week, Parasites, and this week’s update is the largest one to date. We’ve got a ton of stuff to get through including new content (did we mention Act 4 is now complete?), what’s happening at Gamescom, release date news and much more. Shall we begin?



What’s NEW in 0.1908.1

  • Completed Act 4: The Desert.
  • Completed The Desert level.
  • Added new themed rooms to The Desert.
  • Added new secrets to The Desert.
  • Added Area 81 sublevel with new character classes, themed rooms, traps, secrets etc.

Gamescom 2019

We’re here! We made it to Gamescom and Saverio (the boss Parasite here at Troglobytes HQ) is on hand with this brand new build of HyperParasite. Everything above is ready and waiting. We can’t wait to show press, influencers and visitors what we have been working on implementing. Come and visit us in Hall 10.1 in the Entertainment Area of the Spanish Pavilion.



Release Date Update + New Price

Since we released HyperParasite on Steam Early Access, the game has received weekly updates including two complete brand new acts, developer and community gameplay streams, a shit ton of new characters, levels, mini-bosses, BIG bosses, gameplay mechanics and quality of life features. As we continue to add more and more to the game, we feel it’s now the right time to increase the price from $10.99 to $12.99. Boss Parasite Saverio released the following statement to the video game press earlier today;

“With the implementation of Act 4, we feel it’s the right time to increase the price from $10.99 to $12.99, which we feel still offers incredible value for money. If you’re at Gamescom, we’d love to show you how far our game has come along in development since our initial Early Access release!”

In addition to the pricing update, we’re also announcing that our planned full, and final, release for HyperParasite will now be Q1 2020. This gives our team the time required to complete not just the Steam build, but the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch build too. We’ll continue to keep you updated here via the Steam store page and here on Twitter.

Hey, Parasites - surprise! We’re back, with new updates, bug fixes, news on Gamescom 2019, a Wiki and a ton more. So, sit back and strap yourselves in, we’re about to get started!



What’s NEW in 0.1908.0

Watch out for the Guards Towers

  • Added brand new rooms on the Desert level including the Guard Towers.
  • Added the QOL Save and Quit mechanic. Now after defeating a boss you can decide to temporarily interrupt your run, save and then play it again whenever you want!
  • Added the highly requested support for Steam Cloud.
  • Added a brand new Desert mini-boss class (as AI and playable character): the Clerk Guy.

Invading a grime encrusted dystopia straight out the eighties, you're the video nasty the authorities warned about. Dragging your greasy tentacles across the tarmac, you are the body-snatching HyperParasite; an evil alien with a bone to pick just because. Infesting the worst excesses of the most ass kicking decade, you must fight your way to the top of the pop-cultural food chain, in order to push the Big Red Button and bring about the mushroom cloud of finality. Be the baddest, navigating the procedurally generated mean streets of a hopeless future, in this tough twin-stick roguelite brawling S.O.B.

'Long live the new flesh'


Look at all those juicy meat-sacks going to waste on those grotty humans! As the HyperParasite you can make better use of them, snatching hosts with your tentacles, absorbing them and their different abilities. Once they die you can discard their skin, but one shot as the parasite and it's permadeath, so keep on snatching.

'Hosting makes me feel good'


Feed the parasite with over 60 different characters, as you collect and control hosts, each with their own unique attack and smackdown. Hunt down the host class boss, free their brain, and take it back Wito's, our ever greedy shopkeeper. Using one of his vats to store the brain you can then unlock the character with your hard stolen cash. There's even a storage unit for your already collected hosts to come back to in later games.

'Yeah, Downtown must be the friendliest place on Earth...'


Being procedurally generated, nobody knows what's waiting around each darkened corner. Using a grungy synthwave aesthetic, the game has 5 different acts, each with their own set of hosts to hijack. What lies in the shadows is also essential, as there are secrets within secrets to explore within its roguelite mapping system. But keep a tentacle out for the bosses, as they pack one mean punch!

Original beats served by Van Reeves and Joe Kataldo, delivering a thumping score with a pulsating synthwave bassline, punctuating every snatch and kill.

Trouble loves company, as you can bring a mate to deliver twice the carnage in two-player local co-op mode.
