What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“RAMS is launched in Early Access so that as many potential players as possible can participate in the development process.

We have a small development team and we implemented several non-standard for the genre mechanic in RAMS, so we will need your response. We do not like to follow the path of adding exclusively cosmetic changes from month to month - if something is wrong in the gameplay - we will redesign or cut out this part of the game for release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We focus on roughly 6 months in early access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“It is necessary to understand that many RAMS mechanics are now a prototype and can change by themselves to release, we will decide what to do, depending on your response.
In addition to adding new equipment and vehicles, we also plan to add as many localization languages as possible to the release date.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The basic «battle royale» gameplay mechanics functions the way we intended.
You can start match with other players (solo for now, but very soon in a squad with friends) and start exploring a part of our map. We included 1/4 of the full map — and focused on polishing it to a playable state. What we'll do with other parts will depend on your, players, opinions. There is a deadly zone, that'll kill you in some time and one unusual way to land on map — by train. It randomly chooses one of many railroads on the map and you can jump out of train any time you want. But be ready — if train'll reach final destination point — everyone inside will be annihilated.
In early access you'll have your own hideout — a place with lobby mechanics where players can wait till match begins. We plan to expand this idea further — with a lot of different type of hideouts with different bonuses they bring. But for now it's just a safe place to relax.
In early access we will bring you 3 different guns at start and will increase this list later. For now it includes AKM, Sako 85 Hunter and M416. You could buy any of them from in-game shop (we call it RAMSNET and it'll become more than just shop in future) for in-game coins or loot anywhere on map. Coins can be earned through winning games, hunting other players or selling loot that you find during the match. You can fight with your arms tho.
And about characters — we have our own character editor — so you can create your own unique character. It's still not as good as we want it to be, but could bring you some fun.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, we plan to slightly increase the purchase price after leaving early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“It's no secret that the gaming community is an important part of the development cycle of any game.
We appreciate the response of our players, after all, in the end, RAMS is created for you - so our team discusses the ideas put forward by the community.
The opportunity to see what players think about these or those aspects of the game helps to develop the project in the right direction.”

About This Game

RAMS is a shooter based on the mechanisms of the Battle Royale, but with more attention to the detail, with a sharp focus on the experience of each and every moment of your playtime. RAMS will take you on a journey much deeper than the standard shooter game, with the ability to expand and train your character in broader strokes. You are more than just a gun.

If we talk about the details

  • The maximum number of players on a 5x5 kilometer map is 30 people. So far, we are opening 1/4 of the map for early access, so in the future we should expect an increase in the playing area. The number of players will remain the same.

  • Players will own a hideout, which can be modified and will give some bonuses to an owner. But for early access it's just a safe place to relax between matches.

  • You can buy some equipment from our in-game shop — RAMSNET — and take it with you to the match. It's all about an in-game ramscoins, you can get them for certain actions in a match, by winning, looting or killing other players.

  • We're planning to implement some unique mechanics for battle royale. One of them is a quadrocopter - one small thing, that can help you in a match, can be upgradeable and will bring you some more fun stuff during fights. Other - currency-mining farm. A place in your hideout that can generate you an in-game currency every hour. And more, a lot more, but in the future.

  • We're implementing a flexible system for the progress and development of your avatar inside RAMS. It should be ready to be shown in a couple of months. Character inside RAMS becomes stronger even in your absence. Over time, you will become better at handling equipment that you prefer. Your avatar learning something always, it doesn't sleep and don't need rest. So you can choose in which ways it'll progress — certain gun or overall physical discipline, driving or fighting. Your character learn skills even when you're offline, so you don't need to be online always.

  • Now we're focused on basic mechanics, but maybe in the end of an early access we'll start tests for automated tournament system. It's a more complex type of usual matches — but you can get some rare loot or a lot of in-game currency for top 3 places.

  • It's a basic gameplay process. You can win a match without even facing another player. Or by destroying them all and loot all their stuff. It's your choice.
