What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access is a great way for us to receive feedback from the community and incorporate it into the game. We want Pax Nova to be the greatest strategy game it can be and being able to get feedback from a variety of people at this stage is a huge help, especially for such a complex game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We estimate Pax Nova will be in Early Access for about 3 to 6 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan on releasing regular content updates, until we reach v1.0. These updates will include new features and gameplay mechanics to play with, new quests, additional technologies and localization to multiple languages. The updates will additionally focus on game balancing, bug fixes and general gameplay improvements, as well as adding Steam achievements. We also plan on including community suggestions and ideas, so please feel free to leave your feedback on the Steam discussion board”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The whole game is fully playable from start to finish and should be fun despite the rough edges, lack of balance, possible bugs and missing content. For a list of all the features currently implemented in the game please refer to the "About This Game" section.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will release into Early Access at a discount. The price will rise at the 1.0 release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Getting feedback from the community is the reason why we are going through Early Access!
So we plan on paying very close attention to the forums and social media to implement that feedback in a timely manner. Whether it’s bug reports, ideas or general criticism; we love to get your feedback.”

Community Appreciation Update

Colonisation options and planetary differentiation

Planetary colonisation will be more customisable when the update launches and planets will differ more from each other. Some strategic resources can now only be found on certain planets and planets now have specific traits that affect factors such as the numbers of forests, food production yields, mountains, etcetera. These can be added and removed throughout the game depending on factors such as your total pollution.

Diplomacy additions

Up next are the diplomacy additions. AI will be able to use different proposal items to negotiate deals, such as Aether and Strategic resources. New diplomatic actions based on new events, such as being able to condemn other factions if they commit a massacre or cause a natural disaster or other negative consequences caused by high pollution levels. Finally, it will add the option to have relationship bonuses and penalties between factions you make friends or enemies of, based on their lore.

SPAAAAAACE!!!

The best of jokes that have been run into the ground. The improvements this update adds to space gameplays are no joke, however. Space resources and space mining get added with this update: players will be able to control highly valuable strategic resources that can only be found in space using space ships with a mining module. Colonisable planets can now be mined for Strategic Resources using certain technologies.

Even more stuff

We should also mention the addition of a new Tech Era! It’ll have 20 new technologies to research, so grab your thinking caps. The final addition will be enhanced tooltips, which will feature extra contextually relevant information after the update rolls out.

Future content updates

We’ll continue to patch Pax Nova in between these larger content releases and will have more to share about future updates when they draw nearer. So stay tuned, thank you for playing and if you have more feedback for us, we’re still very keen on hearing from you.

Thank you!

- The Pax Nova team

About This Game

Humanity has failed itself through pollution and war. After a century of political tension and countless armed conflicts, Earth is now on the verge of being uninhabitable. A communication from deep space gives us the chance to leave our dying planet and start over, by migrating to Eos, marking the beginning of the era of ‘Pax Nova’. But will it be enough to save humanity?

In this sci-fi turn-based 4X strategy game, you may choose one of several factions divided between three races, and establish yourself in Eos. Explore new worlds and new star systems filled with exciting secrets as well as terrible dangers. Build great cities and expand your influence through efficient diplomacy, or prepare for battle on land and in space when diplomacy fails or for when you’re just a warmonger.

Explore your world and beyond...

Planets are much more than just a collection of stats. Your civilization will soon want to know what’s outside your atmosphere and will look forward to discovering, colonizing or even invading new worlds. Each planet is procedurally generated with different biomes and various challenges, and is filled with numerous secrets, creatures, characters, factions and much more.

...including space itself

Space itself hides numerous secrets but many dangers as well. Pirates, space creatures and other beings will try to hinder or help your progression throughout Eos.

An epic space opera

Three different races, all invited there, provide a choice from a total of 15 factions. Each faction has their own play-style and challenges. Unveil the past of Eos and define its future! How you do it however is entirely up to you.

Dynamic diplomacy systems and political landscape

New diplomacy options can be unlocked depending on your traits, technology, specific events and more.

And much more

  • Discover Eos’s secrets and solve quests, build space bases and outposts
  • Unique victory conditions for each player
  • Unit and ship customization
  • Randomly generated tech tree (Coming soon during EA)
