Miksi Early Access?

We have decided to take advantage of Steam's Early Access to allow a better experience for the player. Using Early Access, we hope to gain feedback from the community about their feelings of the story and we want to shape the game and the story to be a more complete experience. With the amount of depth we have planned for this project, we want our fans to weigh in on their opinions of content. The community can weigh in on dialogue and characters in the game and the input of the community makes for a story and experience that everyone can enjoy. We also want to use this opportunity to allow the player to make their own journey and story in Yoltrund. Play the way that you want to play and make your own story.

Miten kauan peli tulee arviolta olemaan Early Access -vaiheessa?

We expect the game to be finished by early fall 2018. Else, we will delay until early 2019 to ensure that the game is complete.

Millä tavoin lopullinen versio tulee eroamaan Early Access -versiosta?

The Early Access version will be done step by step. We plan to release a scene of Yoltrund, allow the community to review the scene, and then we adjust the scene according to community feedback. We will aim not to release a scene in the game and it not be complete. This includes features. All of the game's base features have been added and the game is now needing content so the game will have everything the player needs.

The game currently has all of the features advertised and has everything the player needs to begin enjoying. From here, the only thing to be added is the content and the different scenes of the game as well as some community feedback as to the direction of the game.

The Early Access version comes with an early adopters discount, discounted from the original price. Once the game is finished and fully launched, we will remove the discount and the game sold for its suggested retail price.

We will maintain forums and boards to watch the community and as we create the game in steps, we will check our progress and steps with the community. We will release one scene of the game at a time and once we add a scene, we will monitor the community and weigh feedback of the scene. We will then adjust the scene according to what the community prefers. We will also use the community to build characters in the game as well as dialogue for those characters or others. Players may also have their input weighed on the story and the story may be tweaked accordingly.

A scene will include the level maze itself, and all dialogue, sequences, actions, puzzles, etc.

For example, we will launch "Kurldehv", which is the scene of the player entering the depths of Yoltrund and the first torment. We will release the scene completed to the best of our ability and the community will play through the scene and then provide feedback. This could be that a character needs a different dialogue sequence, a bug occured, or that the level maze wasn't quite right. We will then adjust the scene accordingly and rerelease and move to the next scene.

Once we're finished reviewing a scene, we will put up topics to monitor the community and ask things like "make a character" or "what would this character sound like?".
