What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We have been building and testing cool features in a local multiplayer environment for approximately 6 months now, and we think this is the perfect moment to start getting feedback from a wider audience. We want you to join us in making Drunkenpants the best and craziest 2D multiplayer PVP battle game that has been seen in the industry.

We see Early Access as a great way of getting our game to you in an easy way. It also makes it easy to manage feedback and we will have a good forum to share all the information on what's going on with development and upcoming updates.

We are a young and ambitious studio from the cold north of Finland, with a dream to grow to a studio that builds easily approachable multiplayer games with short session lenghts, so that even the busiest gamers can enjoy engaging and fun gameplay. We see the Early Access of Drunkenpants as the first major step towards making this dream come through.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are planning to take the game out from Early Access in the first Quarter of 2019.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the full version, we aim to have more playable characters, more special weapons, team versions of the current game modes + more game modes in general, more enemies and more other environmental dangers to bring in more replay value to each game session. We are also doing tests of supporting smartphones as game-pads, to get everyone on-board at a local gaming session. Hopefully we could support this in the future as well.

We also have a dream of making this game work with Online Multiplayer. If we can make this happen you could invite friends from your steam friend-list and join public rooms for fun with randoms.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently, we have 4 game modes, 6 special weapons, 5 playable characters and 4 songs. All the game modes have the same visual style, but we are working on making them look unique and have different map layouts for each of them.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We will keep the game free in the beginning to get as many of you onboard, without a barrier to entry! We want to thank you all for joining this early on in the journey. Later on as we add more updates to the game we are planning to raise the price as we put out bigger content updates to the game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want to build the game with you, so we will be going through feedback regularly and try to make the game appeal to your needs as well as possible, without losing our initial vision of the game. We are also planning to have developer livestreams, where we play unreleased builds of the game and let you jump in and give feedback in real time, while we are playing and thinking about how we should make the game even better.”
