What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

Totally Realistic Sledding VR is developed by a small group of aspiring game developers. We want to bring this game to its fullest potential, and we can't do this alone. We believe working alongside the community will help us bring our game up to the highest standards. Early Access is the easiest way to integrate players into our development, to help create a great game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We aim to bring Totally Realistic Sledding VR out of Early Access by mid 2019. We believe that we'll be able to complete a finished product by then. If we do not believe our product is in a finished state we'll extend the date.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Totally Realistic Sledding VR will add more mechanics to the game and many more levels. Gameplay will be refined and bugs willed be fixed. Graphics will be improved but will still stay in the low poly art style. The graphics at the moment are still in the mid-stages of development; we want to get the gameplay right before focusing on aesthetics. Multiple features are planned to be added such as Steam Workshop Support, Steam Achievements, etc.
At the moment the game only supports the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Windows MR, but with the full version we aim to support other major VR platforms such as Gear VR.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently Totally Realistic Sledding VR provides six levels to traverse. We have more levels currently in development that are planned to be gradually released throughout development.
Ten more levels are currently under development and will be coming subsequently quite soon after the Early Access release. There are also over 30 tasks to carry out, with 12 different items that can be bought inside the shop.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“It will be the same price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Communicating with our players is incredibly important to the development of Totally Realistic Sledding VR. We can be contacted through our Steam Community page. We plan on using the communities feedback to improve and iterate on the game.”

Finally, the gameplay update is out!

Hello Sledders!

Its been quite a while since our last update, but now we have an update and it is the biggest one we've had ever.

Heres some dev notes of it:
  • Split tasks into beginner and advanced categories to balance gameplay
  • New control added, swipe arms to speed up, and don't swipe for it to slow down due to friction(so basically acceleration and breaking)
  • Fixed and better physics, no more strange bouncing on steep surfaces
  • Sensitive jump, harder you pull the more you jump(with a cap)
  • Many more tasks, now over 30
  • Three brand new levels, Ski Resort 2 and Ice Caves 2, and Beginners Slope
  • Temporarily removed Snow Sports for maintanence
  • New interactive tutorial added
  • Better save system, replaced PlayerPrefs
  • Settings option added
  • Revamped main menu lighting for optimisation
  • Better GUI overall, far more readable now
  • Revamped all the tasks to make sure they are all possible
  • More easter eggs in main menu :)
  • Camera now slowly follows sled rotation above a certain speed
  • Lots of bug fixes and optimisation etc
  • Made CameraRig face the correct orientation now

Developer Blog October 5th

Hey everyone!

We've been silent for a while, and that is because we have been busy with things.
Some of those things regard what was mentioned on our to-do list in our last announcement such as levels and the arcade mode, but we have also been focusing on other things.

We would like to make the game feel much more responsive and interactive, so a more refined control scheme with haptic feedback is planned.
Other things to make it feel more responsive that we are going for are better snow particles, and perhaps deformable snow. Basically we just want to make the game feel more 'tight' in terms of controls and everything.

Anyway, thanks for waiting so long, and while the next update won't be out for a while we will try to keep you guys updated with screenshots etc.

Thanks for playing the game,
Plectrum Software
