조사 기자 로버트 호크와 그의 아내 새라는 의문의 사고를 당한 뒤 실종됐습니다. 경찰은 차 사고의 잔해밖에 찾지 못했습니다. 조사관에 따르면, 호크는 „일루전” 이라는 가명을 쓰는 연쇄 살인마에 대한 기사를 오랫동안 써 왔고, 그로 인해 납치됐을 가능성이 높다고 합니다. 실종 직전, 로버트 호크는 사설 탐정 패트릭 클라크의 도움으로 '일루전'의 정체를 밝히기 일보 직전이었습니다. 이제 호크는 “일루전” 의 함정에 빠졌고, 살아 남으려면 수 많은 퍼즐을 뚫고 나가야 합니다.
