What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access allows us to really stretch the design flexibility of the game with the community while it's still in the early stages of development. Being able to really get an idea of what the community thinks of the game, the suggestions they have to make it better, making those adjustments, iterations and improvements are acceptable in an Early Access version of the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“At the moment we're estimating a departure from Early Access around Spring/Summer 2018 However, we want to make sure the game is ready to deliver with our expectations we want others to experience. As time progresses will be more confident in firmly establishing a release date when we leave Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Fatal Velocity's design will be expanded with the New game modes beyond that of the standard Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Last Player Standing.

We'll be adding the more experimental game modes like:
  • Floor is Lava
  • Grapple Football
  • Racing Modes
  • Space Frogger
  • Mobile Arenas

Additional Features Will Include:
  • New Weapons
  • New SHIFT_ abilities
  • Dedicated server system (depending on our level of success with Kickstarter)
  • Additional maps
  • In-Game armor customization
  • Full soundtrack
  • Overhauled particle systems and environment models

New weapons and power ups are constantly being reworked and redesigned to fit the game. Ultimately, Fatal Velocity: Physics Combat will launch with much more content, features, polish and depth to the already existing parts of the game.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Fatal Velocity is currently playable and stable with online direct connection, in short while we aim to get dedicated servers in the future - in it's current state, players connect directly to one another. The designated map that is currently part of the build is our flagship map, Floating Islands! The map encompasses everything that makes Fatal Velocity - well, Fatal Velocity! The ability to swing around floating objects, buildings, in and out of structures, the environment hazards, the flow and feel of the map is the best we've designed yet! We have a fully loaded weapon selection system ready for players to choose from, along with bots to start practicing against should they want to learn how the game's mechanics function before stepping into the online arena! On top of all that we currently have 3 game modes ready! Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Last Player Standing!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Fatal Velocity will have a reduced price during Early Access. When it officially launches the price will increase slightly.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community is EVERYTHING to us! Since our first week of development we have always sought the advice, perspective and feedback of our playtesters. There's no one true design path to follow for this kind of game, where the game is now is due to the playtesters feedback and it's only gotten better. The more we playtest, the more feedback we receive from the community, the more well rounded the game becomes and we absolutely would not be here if it wasn't for the honest critique of the playtesting community we've had so far! We look forward to finding new players to join in our quest to help us take this game to next level!”
