What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Because the game is made by a single developer, it hasn't been tested by a large amount of people. I would like to get feedback and have the first episode up to community standards, before releasing future episodes.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game will be in early access for at least a couple of months, most likely.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Community feedback will lead to a more polished game, with more content and features being added in the future. New guns and monsters will be added regularly. There will be new episodes released, with all new areas to explore, as well as new monsters to fight.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The entire first episode is fully playable for roughly 6 to 9 hours of gameplay. New game plus is fully functional and allows for infinite replayability. New game plus increases the enemies that spawn and makes the game a lot harder in general.

Things that need the most attention right now are :

  • User interface polish
  • Character creation system
  • A full pass on soundFX (Specifically monster sounds and environment.)

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will stay the same price after Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community will be fully involved in the development process, and their feedback will shape the progress of future updates.”

Revulsion - Patch update - Bug fixes and delete character confirmation window.

- Delete character feature now has a proper confirmation window.

- Some monsters were appearing as base NPC class (Fixed)

- The initial workings of the Advancement system is now visible in game but is still very much a work in progress.

The advancement system will be tied into achievements as well as overall progress of the game. Its a one stop shop for all side objectives. This system will give access to unique blueprints as well as experience points and credits rewards. This tab will also be the only way to unlock the depraved and Wizard classes.

This system will also provide a way to give tips and tricks on how improve in the game. Monster weaknesses and even information on elemental damage system.

I may need to reconsider advertising the game as not hand holding anymore at this point. This system is going to make it too easy to fully explain all of the games mechanics in a fairly seamless manor. :X

Well maybe, lets see.

About This Game

Revulsion is the missing link between old school classic first person shooters and modern day first person shooters. Imagine if the classic fps had evolved in a direction other than a story based experience, to being something much more brutal, with more advanced gameplay mechanics. Revulsion takes classic Doom and Quake style gameplay and combines it with the core concepts that permeate the Dark Souls design philosophy.

You will navigate hand crafted level design to unravel a series of increasingly more dangerous environments. If you die, you will have one chance to recover your dropped credits and loot, or it will be erased forever. Revulsion is a game that is meant to challenge you without being unfair.

Revulsion also includes light RPG elements such as leveling, crafting and upgrading your equipment. In addition to that, there is a large amount of potential loot that you can discover to help you along the way. Weapons, armor, and even special abilities that are tied to limited resources. You will have the ability to craft items from blueprints, as well as repairing broken items that you may find throughout the world.

Exploration is key, as you will be searching all over the world to discover as many secrets as possible. You never know what you might find as you unearth the deepest darkest depths.

How far can you get?
