Why Early Access?

“Because the game is made by a single developer, it hasn't been tested by a large amount of people. I would like to get feedback and have the first episode up to community standards, before releasing future episodes.”

“The game will be in early access for at least a couple of months, most likely.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Community feedback will lead to a more polished game, with more content and features being added in the future. New guns and monsters will be added regularly. There will be new episodes released, with all new areas to explore, as well as new monsters to fight.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The entire first episode is fully playable for roughly 6 to 9 hours of gameplay. New game plus is fully functional and allows for infinite replayability. New game plus increases the enemies that spawn and makes the game a lot harder in general.

Things that need the most attention right now are :

  • User interface polish
  • Character creation system
  • A full pass on soundFX (Specifically monster sounds and environment.)

New Revulsion patch has gone live!

  • Sniper Rifle accuracy fixed.

There was a problem with the accuracy system that was reported in the forum here that I have addressed. The sniper is now functioning as intended.

Keep in mind that the scout class has a fixed accuracy for all weapons so the sniper rifle will always be a bit off with that class. Marksman armor is the best way to address this problem.

  • New advancement system with 101 new challenges!

This system tracks your progress in the game and offers all kinds of rewards for completing different things in the game. Some of the most rare and powerful weapons in the game are available for completing these advancements! There are a bunch of new weapons and items that were never available before.

  • Depraved and Wizard classes have been removed

My goal with Revulsion right now is to wrap things up in a way where its all about new maps and new gear for awhile. This means bringing things together and avoiding things that will involve a lot of feature creep. At this point in time I want to just load the game with maps guns and gear. Raise the level cap.

  • Two new monsters!

These are now functional but are not currently in the game. Here is a sneak peak at the advancement tab showing the Void bomber and the Abomination. These enemies will appear in the up and coming content.

More Revulsion content in the works.

I will be starting up on getting the AI for these two enemies in place and I will make 1 more Dark Base mission with new levels, loot and enemies. At this point I will be ready to take the game fully out of Early access as this will easily be enough content for the game to stand on its own two legs.

After that I will begin working on the next episode. I will be live streaming progress on this as well. Keep an eye out as I begin ramping up!

About This Game

Revulsion is the missing link between old school classic first person shooters and modern day first person shooters. Imagine if the classic fps had evolved in a direction other than a story based experience, to being something much more brutal, with more advanced gameplay mechanics. Revulsion takes classic Doom and Quake style gameplay and combines it with the core concepts that permeate the Dark Souls design philosophy.

You will navigate hand crafted level design to unravel a series of increasingly more dangerous environments. If you die, you will have one chance to recover your dropped credits and loot, or it will be erased forever. Revulsion is a game that is meant to challenge you without being unfair.

Revulsion also includes light RPG elements such as leveling, crafting and upgrading your equipment. In addition to that, there is a large amount of potential loot that you can discover to help you along the way. Weapons, armor, and even special abilities that are tied to limited resources. You will have the ability to craft items from blueprints, as well as repairing broken items that you may find throughout the world.

Exploration is key, as you will be searching all over the world to discover as many secrets as possible. You never know what you might find as you unearth the deepest darkest depths.
