Localization Update v2.8.0 (April 19th)

The Localization update is here!
Patch Notes
  • Added the Russian Language
  • Completely changed the fonts in the game to be more compatible with the Cyrillic AND Latin alphabets.
  • Small bug fixes in preparation for the end of April release.
  • What IS NOT TRANSLATED:
    • Poems (Coming Soon)
    • Poems in the extras menu
    • Settings Menu (Coming Soon)
  • Redesigned the handwritten font in the journals to allow Cyrillic.
  • Added a Language Option at the bottom of the settings menu to switch languages. Click the desired language and allow the game to momentarily load the language you selected.
  • Changed the way the game is packaged to allow a better and faster update system. This is why the update is ~400MB.
Known Issues
  • Missing capitalizations in Russian translations
  • Text may clip off screen at times due to the new font style and sizes.

This update brings the Russian language to most parts of the game, including all menus and instructional widgets. Support for additional languages is also now possible, and more languages may be added in the future if demand calls for them.

Additionally, all fonts have been changed to allow for cyrillic and latin letters to coexist with no foreseen issues. This includes the journal entries and menus.

HOW TO REPORT BAD OR MISSING TRANSLATIONS
This is an easy one. If you are reporting multiple bad or missing translations , please send an email to immersivepoetry@gmail.com. You will be credited for everything that you contribute. If you are reporting one bad or missing translation , please use the discussion forums on Steam OR send an email to immersivepoetry@gmail.com.

What’s next?
A new content drop will be ready by the end of April or the first week of May. As we get closer, I will be able to set an exact release date. This drop brings with it a new poem level and new music. New parchments will be arriving soon after that.

Upcoming Update 2.8.0 (Language Support) April 19th, 2018

The 2.8.0 version of Immersive Poetry will be releasing on April 19th. This update will add the Russian language to the game, as well as support for other languages in the future.

What ISN'T translated?
Everything in the game has been localized excluding the extras menu poems and the poem texts in game, the latter of which will be translated in the End of April update (3.0, no scheduled release date as of yet and may be the first week of May). It is possible that I have missed some texts throughout the game, and if this is the case, please email me or post the missing translations on the discussion boards. This is my first attempt at translating a game inside of this engine, so mistakes may be present, and I apologize in advance for anything that goes awry.

Why?
The unlockable poems are not translated due to the fact that these are images and not text on a backdrop. I will need to remake the assets and then replace them during runtime without causing any other issues, and I don't feel like I have the amount of time I need for it to live up to my standards. The poem popups in the game are going to be translated, I just did not have the time to translate them before this update, so hang in there!

What IS translated?
Basically, everything else not mentioned above should be translated properly. I am taking this next week to sweep back through it for mistakes (Russian is NOT my native language). The original release for this update was intended to be April 5th, but with my trip to the states, it just wasn't possible to hit that mark, and I apologize for its lateness; I take full responsibility. It's tough doing things on your own sometimes.

Are other languages possible in the future?
This system I have in place now will allow other languages to be added pretty seamlessly in the future. While I don't have plans for other languages at this time, I am open to requests. I do not speak any other languages (My Russian is barely intermediate; Most of the translations are products from my wife), and hiring translators can get pretty pricey. With that said, I'd love to pursue additional languages in between the planned updates mentioned in the roadmap.

Is there anything else in this update minus the localization support?
No, unfortunately, besides some minor bug fixes that won't mean much to you if you have already played the whole game. However, with that said, the 3.0 update will add a new level with some cool new things to explore.

Thanks to everyone who has been supportive throughout the lifetime of Immersive Poetry. Here's to what's next!

About This Game

Enjoy an interesting twist on classic poetry by solving puzzles and following the story of the Wilkins Family inside your very own journal. From the islands of Finland to the snowy mountains of Russia, you’ll explore and experience beautiful maps based on real world locations in this puzzle game with a unique theme. With the power of the Unreal Engine behind it, Immersive Poetry is definitely a title you don’t want to miss. Read on if you need some more convincing!

Maps

In Immersive Poetry, each map is based on a real-world location using inspiration from the nature found in those areas. You will get to see the pine trees in Yellowstone National Park, to one of many Finnish islands, complete with seagulls, fish, and vegetation natural to the country. Each map, or “Level”, has its own mystery to solve alongside the original objectives presented. Along with this, each map is also named after and inspired by a real world poem, from “A Boat Beneath a Sunny Sky” by Lewis Carroll to “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost.

Soundtrack

The soundtrack in Immersive Poetry is a wonderful time of piano music, each track fitted into the level as naturally as possible. Hate it when games have the same 3-minute loop over and over again? Each level has plenty of gorgeous music, so there won’t be any repetitiveness around here.

Your Journal

In Immersive Poetry, your journal will be your guide. This journal will contain story elements and is updated each time you complete a level or complete a secret objective. Be sure to check your journal periodically to get hints about hidden secrets in each level!

Puzzles

Immersive Poetry is filled with different types of interesting puzzles and objects to discover. YOU will uncover the mystery behind the Wilkins family journal. Think hard, because the answer won’t always be right in front of you!

Progress Tracker

Wondering if you missed something in a level? That’s okay! Check out your progress tracker to see if you need to return. Can YOU get all those bars to 100%? Don't forget about the achievements!

What about the Future?

With Immersive Poetry, the possibilities are practically endless, and the future will reflect that. You don’t need to worry about the future because it’s a bright one! All future content updates will be completely free of charge, and updates there will be!

I’m still unsure if it’s for me… Can I ask other Questions?

Of course! You can use the Discussion boards to ask anything, and the developer will happily answer to the best of my ability. Thalasse Games can also be emailed at immersivepoetry@gmail.com. Thank you for your interest and your time!
