What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Our goal is to make a high quality VR game that offers players a truly polished and complete experience.

As a small indie team looking to achieve this, it is incredibly important for us to hear player feedback at the earliest possible stage, so that it can steer and influence our development process. Early Access allows the Steam community to directly impact aspects of the game, and gives us the ability to create a product that players want.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“While we do have a planned set frame of about 2-3 months, we are willing to extend this time period slightly in order to meet the needs of players and create the best possible gaming experience.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In addition to improving everything that is currently available in-game, we plan on the full version to have the following features;

- Expanded main game charting Derora’s journey to back to the nest, with new levels to unlock and extended gameplay
- New game mode – “Endless challenge mode”
- Expanded and improved soundtrack
- Expanded and improved ambient sounds and game SFX
- Multiplayer mode”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Current Early Access features include;

- 4 immersive forest environments
- Experience a unique play through each time
- Timed levels with global leader-boards
- Evolving soundtrack that reacts to player position”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The current price point is for Early Access supporters only, our way of saying thank you for supporting the game during its development. Once the game reaches its full state, Derora will be released at an increased price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will be actively engaging and listening to our community of players, and we are open to all ideas for improvement users may have. Feedback on both the current and future game content will directly influence our development process in order to deliver a game the Steam community wants.

We want to make the development of Derora as interactive as possible, so feel free to get in touch and drop off ideas in the Steam community forums, or visit us on our website, Facebook page or Twitter.”

“While climbing videogames like Crytek’s mountaineering simulator The Climb go for a realistic approach to ascending vertical heights, today sees the launch of a far more stylised experience.”

“Derora may have just launched on early access yet it already offers an addictive gameplay experience. You’ll get so immersed in the climb that you’ll probably forget about your surroundings as you leap from cube to cube”

“Remember being a kid and looking up at a tree and wondering how you were going to climb it? Well that’s Derora”
