„Early access will allow us to port the web game to Steam, create new single player / custom / local / lan game modes (internet not required), refine the client/server netcode, and finalize the overall game concept into a single, complete, feature rich package of everything 2D Paintball has to offer.

We have been limited on many features in the Web version of our game - By utilizing Steam's platform and more native tools we will be able to build a better & simpler single player (local) and multiplayer (lan/local) modes, along with performance optimizations and more.

The Steam complete version of 2D Paintball will have added optimizations to run significantly better as a native executable on your computer, will not require internet to play locally, and will have all features, fields, client/server options, loadouts, settings, customizations, and networking options fully unlocked in the local/lan/custom/single player game modes.”

„2D Paintball (Online Multiplayer Alpha) is already live and Free-to-play through your web browser; we do not plan for our Early Access to be a long drawn out process. Our current Steam complete featured build of 2DPB is already well underway and mostly finalized.

During Early Access, our plan is to refine the new Steam Build / Single Player / Local / Local Network modes, iron out the slew of new bugs, and get this "complete" Steam / .exe version finalized. We hope this can be achieved by the end of the year.”

The idea is to create a highly competitive 2D simulated speedball experience, by trying to re-create the true feel, strategy, and gameplay of playing tournament speedball. We believe that getting all of the "small" details right is what can really make this game work even in a 2D environment.

So in turn, this game will be less about graphics and more about actually getting the "feels" of strategic high-caliber paintball in 2D!
