Why Early Access?

“There are a few reasons why we have chosen Early Access:

Firstly, we need help refining and balancing our core combat and gameplay mechanics. That’s where you come in. We need you to play our game, test it’s limits and do everything you can to break it. Player feedback is crucial to us at this point so if you discover any bugs or have any issues please share them with us through our Steam forums.

Secondly, we do not feel like we have achieved the quantity of content yet that warrants releasing DimensionsVS in its current state, specifically content that can be purchased via real world money or currency earned in game. Releasing in early access lets us bring the game to you as soon as possible while still creating crucial content, and lets you know what to expect from the game before installing. Best of both worlds, right?”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We want to ensure that the game we’re releasing will be bug-free, balanced, and packed with all the game-modes, levels, characters and additional features that will make it a game worth playing. For this reason, we will be aiming to leave Early Access in late 2019.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full release version will come with a whole bunch of extra content, including new game-modes, characters and levels. These features will be added incrementally over the course of the Early Access period for you to play with and give feedback on.

Release doesn’t mean the end either, simply the point in time where we feel the game is good enough to stand on its own. After release you can expect continued updates adding even more content!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“All the core functionality of the game is already there. You can play online or locally in custom matches or quick-matched 1v1’s. You can purchase customisation options with currency earned in-game or bought with real world money and you can use them to change the appearance of your unlocked characters.

However the game is not perfectly polished. There will be issues and bugs, and we ask that you be patient with us as we release updates and patches to deal with any problems that arise.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Nope, DimensionsVS is free-to-play and it's going to stay that way.”
