Ryan Laukat推出的八分鐘帝國是一款快速棋盤遊戲，遊戲的文明/探索主題使用紙牌進行區域控制。

玩八分鐘帝國時，2-5名玩家輪流從顯示的六張牌中選一張。這張牌為玩家提供了一個資源，還有一個玩家要立即採取的動作。動作幫助玩家接管地圖，但在遊戲結束時收集的資源是等於積分的，所以玩家須平衡這兩個方面。玩家縱橫地圖，是為了在遊戲結束時控制大部分區域和大陸來集分。
