Free DLC "Arcane Unleashed" available now!

Hello Pathfinders!

Because there is no such thing as Too Much Magic, we released today our latest free DLC “Arcane Unleashed”. Wrapped up within this free DLC is something for everyone!

Explorers of The Stolen Lands can ramp-up their magical arsenal with the following new spells:

  1. Create Pit
  2. Spiked Pit
  3. Acid Pit
  4. Hungry Pit
  5. Rift of Ruin
  6. Battering Blast

An arcane scroll merchant will appear in your capital. The quantity and caster level of available scrolls depends on how high your "Arcane" kingdom stat is.
But wait, that’s not all! If you like turning into giant dragons as much as we believe, you'll definitely enjoy the fresh, improved models for chromatic and metallic types of these formidable creatures.

Last but not least, the DLC adds a new pet to the game. Its appearance is no mere accident. Here's what the devs themselves write about this:

"One of our players and our friend, known to the community as Stratagemini, lost his beloved cat Tiger just weeks before the launch of our game. Stratagemini has been with us since the earliest days of development, supporting us every step of the way, providing extensive and enlightening feedback in the alpha, and helping to shape this community into what it is today. As a token of our eternal gratitude, we've recreated Tiger in the game so that he may roam with his human friend once more - if only in the Stolen Lands."

Patch 1.3 open beta! - March 20, 2019 - Part 2

Part 1 is here.

User Interfaces

  • The resources on the global map will now show which region they are located in and whether or not the player can already claim them.
  • From now on, pets' stats can always be seen in the inventory and the character sheet, to the right of the pet's owner.
  • The character sheet will now show the damage dealt by additional attacks with equipped weapons, such as those gained through high BAB, special abilities, etc.
  • The "Lostlarn Keep" area wouldn't display its name on the local map. Resolution: fixed.
  • The portal at the "Lostlarn Keep" area didn't have a caption. Resolution: fixed.
  • Skill check tooltips in dialogs could be displayed incorrectly: lines of text could stack on top of each other. Resolution: fixed.
  • From now on, the articles inside main sections of the encyclopedia will be sorted alphabetically.
  • The giant spiders in the "Abandoned Keep" area had all their stats displayed as 0 in the Inspect window. Resolution: fixed.
  • Added new icons (mainly for books, letters and notes).
  • A weapon's description will now display the damage that the chosen character is going to deal with it.
  • Fixed the camera swinging around when hitting Esc in the settlement building interface.
  • Added a confirmation dialogue window at the end of the level up interface.
  • During level up, abilities that have been already chosen will now show up in the same list as new available abilities by default. They will look different to make it easy to spot them, and the tooltip will also remind the player that it has already been chosen.
  • Tsanna's buff at the "Ravaged Capital" area didn't have an icon. Resolution: fixed.
  • It was possible to choose a dead character to perform an action during a book event. Resolution: fixed.
  • Sometimes, a weapon would be displayed instead of its sheath. Resolution: fixed.
  • Added descriptions to Diplomacy, Intimidate and Bluff actions in dialogues.
  • It was impossible to disable "Action Bar Slots Auto-fill". Resolution: fixed.
  • Sorting the items by weight didn't take into account the amount of items in the inventory. Resolution: fixed.
  • The level up interface used to display options that were necessary for the game to function, but actually unavailable to players, such as choosing Groetus as a deity for Clerics. Resolution: fixed.
  • A character's portrait could remain red even after Death's Door was removed from that character. Resolution: fixed.
  • Fixed typos in ability prerequisite texts.
  • Made sure opening the class description by right clicking works as intended. Added a list of new abilities and base stat changes (BAB, saving throws) per level.
  • When leaving the throne room, the stash interface could become duplicated. Resolution: fixed.
  • Jaethal could die as a result of some book events. Resolution: fixed.
  • Changed Talwyn's name color in dialogue to make it more readable.
  • Fixed the Inspect window not displaying some of the localized texts.
  • Added information about casting time, spell resistance and spell descriptor to scroll and potion descriptions.
  • Added information about casting time to the descriptions of Spell-like-abilities on the Abilities screen of the Character sheet.
  • Added information about inspecting creatures to the encyclopedia.
  • Fixed the description of immunities for Swarm creatures in the Inspect window.
  • If a character died and was resurrected in the same area, their action icon could disappear. Resolution: fixed.
  • In the class progression screen feats like Weapon Focus, Spell Specialization and others will now show the exact chosen parameters.
  • Reworked the way metamagic looks in the spellbook. The button that leads to that interface became more visible, and the readability of metamagic icons was improved.
  • After using an item through the context menu, hitting Space would use it again. Resolution: fixed (weird! always thought this was a feature, not a bug...).
  • There was no indication in the spellbook that some domain spells could be memorized using ordinary spell slots. Resolution: reworked the visualization of such spells, corrected the highlighting for spell slots.
  • Corrected the way opposing spell schools are shown in the spellbook.
  • The description of spells on the left page of the spellbook gets blocked by the spells themselves. Resolution: fixed.
  • Improved the way specializations and domains are displayed in the spellbook.
  • When opening the color changing interface for the first time, the position that has been already selected would not be displayed. Resolution: fixed.
  • When picking an Animal Companion during level up, reverting the choice became impossible without closing the level up interface completely. Resolution: fixed.

A friendly reminder: while we deeply admire the contribution that mod authors make to our game, we would like you to remember that running custom modifications can lead to unexpected bugs and crashes. Unfortunately, if you encounter any issues while playing with mods, our team will not be able to help you. If this happens, please, report these issues to the mod's original creator. Also, remember that after each game update, there is a high probability of previously installed mods not functioning properly. If you wish to play with mods anyway, disabling auto-updates might prevent your save files from becoming corrupted.

About This Game

With the help of over 18,000 Kickstarter backers, Narrative Designer Chris Avellone and composer Inon Zur, Owlcat Games is proud to bring you the first isometric computer RPG set in the beloved Pathfinder tabletop universe. Enjoy a classic RPG experience inspired by games like Baldur's Gate, Fallout 1 and 2 and Arcanum. Explore and conquer the Stolen Lands and make them your kingdom!

Explore the Stolen Lands, a region that has been contested territory for centuries. Hundreds of kingdoms have risen and fallen in these lands, and now it is time for you to make your mark—by building your own kingdom! To do so, you’ll need to survive the harsh wilderness and the threat of rival nations… as well as threats within your own court.

Customize your character with a wide range of classes and powers including specialized archetypes, powerful arcane and divine spells, choosing from a multitude of class abilities, skills, and feats. Pathfinder allows players to create heroes (or villains) that fit both their individual gameplay styles and their personalities.

Meet a diverse cast of companions and NPCs, including iconic characters from the Pathfinder setting itself. You’ll need to decide who to trust and who to watch carefully, as each companion has an agenda, alignment, and goals that may differ from yours. Your journey will become their journey, and you’ll help shape their lives both in the moment and well into the future.

Conquer new regions as claim them as your own, carving your kingdom from the wilderness. While classic dungeon crawling and exploration lie at the heart of this adventure, diplomacy, politics, and kingdom development are also part of the challenge. Choose your allies well, and keep them close while exploring ancient tombs and ruins — and while dealing with politics in your own court.

Your kingdom is a reflection of your character and your choices throughout the game. It is a living thing shaped by your alignment, your allies, and your ability to lead your people. Not only can your kingdom expand, opening up new territories and allowing you to build new towns and communities, but your capital city will physically change based on your decisions, your policies, and even whom you choose to ally with. As your kingdom grows, a number of factions and neighboring countries will come to you to seek favor—and to test your strength.

Explore - Conquer - Rule!

The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game is an evolution of the 3.5 rules set of the world's oldest fantasy roleplaying game, designed by Paizo, Inc using the feedback of tens of thousands of gamers just like you.
