Why Early Access?

“Tanks VR is in its early stages of development. We are still planning to add many more features before it is considered finished. More gamemodes, maps, tanks, AI and mechanics are planned to be added. In order to implement these features in a good fashion, feedback from the community is required.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are planning to keep Tanks VR in early access for about 1 year. The Tanks VR development team is small, consisting of 2 members. Therefore adding new features will take time.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We would like to add the following features to Tanks VR before we exit Early Access.

• AI bots: play against or with bots, solo or with other players
  
  
• Multi-crewed tanks: take up the role of gunner or driver in bigger tanks
  
  
• Oculus/WMR support: use your favorite VR HMD
  
  
• More tanks: fight in more types of solo or multi-crewed tanks
  
  
• More maps: take the fight to other environments, such as the African desert
  
  
• More gamemodes: play gamemodes such as Team Deathmatch, Free-For-All and more
  
  
• Progression system: upgrade your tank or buy new tanks using income earned during matches based on your performance

After the full release of Tanks VR, we would like to keep improving the game in order to keep players involved.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Tanks VR currently has the following features.

• Battles with up to 10 players: fight in large battles with other players
  
  
• Solo tanks: intuitive controls allow one person to control the M5 Stuart or Panzer 38
  
  
• In-game voice chat: communicate with your team or taunt your enemy
  
  
• Physical lobbies: discuss battle tactics with your team in an underground bunker before a match starts
  
  
• Realistic damage model: each tank has strong and weak spots, use them to win from your enemy
  
  
• Historical maps: fight in close quarters or long distance on two urban maps
  
  
• Immersive war ambience: distant explosions and gunshots will immerse you in the game
  
  
• Practice mode: practice your tank skills in the solo practice mode

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We are planning to increase the price at several stages during early access and at release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We actively listen to feedback and suggestions in the Tanks VR Discord group, which has over 100 members. Players can also add and vote on suggestions for the game on Trello. As developers we then know which features should have priority for development. We also join our players for matches in order to get feedback. Regular development updates will be given in the Steam community, devlog, YouTube, Twitter and Discord.”
