Jaws of Extinction also known as JoE is an open world sandbox survival game. Although there is a story included in the game, it does not direct your path or how you play, but how you play can affect how the world reacts to the decisions you make whilst trying to survive.

Player
  • Fixed double tapping in to ADS (Aim Down Sight) too quickly while in first person disconnecting the camera from the character’s neck.
  • Fixed third-person camera starting to slide in to Over The Shoulder view when tapping to go into ADS.
  • Fixed weapon reticle sometimes appearing incorrectly when moving in and out of ADS.
  • Improved responsiveness for clicking to move in to ADS.
  • Fixed issues where player could enter ADS while interacting with objects.
  • Slightly increased leaning speed.
  • Fixed player camera going in to ADS while the character is still unholstering their weapon, even without clicking to go in to ADS.
  • Aim direction is no longer completely offset when moving in and out of ADS.
  • Fixed issue caused by exiting ADS while still holding [Shift] to hold breath.
  • Fixed various errors affecting performance occuring due to the weapon system.

  • Amended Amy's skin shaders qualities to be more in line with the overall appearance of the world .
  • Player’s shoulder torch has been made wider and brighter.

  • New x4 Scope now attached to M16 (we are aware of a jitter issue happening with the scopes at the moment, we are currently exploring options to fix this).
  • New Holo Sight now attached to MK18.
  • New implementation of quest system for Public Alpha release.
  • Updated UI elements for game tips.

  • New radio control key bindings.
  • New door locking logic. Player must have correct key in inventory to open certain doors.

Player

  • Restructure of player weapons management. Players can now pick up multiple weapons of any kind and keep them in their inventory. Collected weapons can be swapped out in the ‘Character’ tab.
  • Weapons no longer spawn with ammunition in the magazine.
  • Taking a weapon out of an equipment slot will now return the ammunition inside the magazine to the player’s inventory, allowing it to be used for other firearms.
  • Fixed various issue preventing weapon HUD not showing or hiding.
  • Added spam protection to weapon hotkeys.
  • Improvements for general first person mode.
  • Improvements for first person Aim Down Sight (ADS) and gunplay.
  • Added Third person ADS. Hold Right Mouse Button [RMB] to aim over character shoulder.
  • Enter first person ADS by single clicking [RMB] from third person.
  • Disabled Temperature display until fully implemented.

Game
  • Upgraded engine version to Unreal Engine 4.21.2.

Jaws Of Extinction (JoE) is the first of a new generation of story-driven, singleplayer & multiplayer horror-survival games. Your story begins on a large open world island known as Eden-Nadir, a place renowned for its beauty and thriving wildlife. You will be faced with decisions you may or may not wish to make as you battle against terrifying infected and re-animated humans, the military, the island's wildlife, forces of nature, other players and your own conscience…



Begin by playing the prologue to the story as a single player tutorial (also available as a FREE Demo), then either in multiplayer or alone in single player. You can choose to continue following the storyline and discover the secrets of Eden-Nadir or carve your own path in the huge open-world, hand-crafted, sandbox environment.

Explore and claim Eden-Nadir’s vast landscape
