Jaws of Extinction also known as JoE is an open world sandbox survival game. Although there is a story included in the game, it does not direct your path or how you play, but how you play can affect how the world reacts to the decisions you make whilst trying to survive.

  • Restructure of player weapons management. Players can now pick up multiple weapons of any kind and keep them in their inventory. Collected weapons can be swapped out in the ‘Character’ tab.
  • Weapons no longer spawn with ammunition in the magazine.
  • Taking a weapon out of an equipment slot will now return the ammunition inside the magazine to the player’s inventory, allowing it to be used for other firearms.
  • Fixed various issue preventing weapon HUD not showing or hiding.
  • Added spam protection to weapon hotkeys.
  • Improvements for general first person mode.
  • Improvements for first person Aim Down Sight (ADS) and gunplay.
  • Added Third person ADS. Hold Right Mouse Button [RMB] to aim over character shoulder.
  • Enter first person ADS by single clicking [RMB] from third person.
  • Disabled Temperature display until fully implemented.

  • Upgraded engine version to Unreal Engine 4.21.2.
  • Changed starting rifle for AKM & 7.62mm Ammo (M16 work in progress pending further work on attachments).

  • Adjusted time at which foxes will appear during the night.
  • First "Safezone civilians" have been added to Hanouten safezone.

  • Added the first player placeable storage cabinet (Find in survival category in "B" building menu), press [F] to open doors and drawers, holding [F] to enter and exit interaction/storage mode.

  • Updated all world asset materials to work with latest engine version lighting.
  • Improved interiors shaders of stores / shops around Hanouten.
  • Dressed "Mortar & Pestle" pharmacy more (posters & pharmacy assets).

  • Fixed player receiving a duplicate weapons in their inventory when picking up another weapon of the same type (e.g. replacing an AR with another AR).
  • Fixed picking up Shat’s tinned food which would not be added to the inventory when picked up.
  • Fixed issue picking up Wooden Planks which would not be added to the inventory when picked up.
  • Fixed issue picking up Compost which would not be added to the inventory when picked up.
  • Pickaxe now attaches to Amy’s back when holstered, rather than attaching to her hip.
  • Fixed bug where player would not respawn properly if respawning at sleeping bag placed in an enclosed area (e.g. in houses).
  • Picking up items underneath foliage are now prioritised over harvesting the foliage.
  • New weapon inventory UI with new layout and information.
  • New player crafting system layout.
  • New crafting feature: Auto Craft system. Will allow you to ask for an item to be crafted once the required items are in your inventory. Feature locked until implementation is finished. Will become usable in near future.

  • Updated max stack amounts for items. Stack sizes are now more consistent between items, either stacking to 250 for smaller items, 100 for larger items or not stacking at all.
  • Fixed the items being lost when using the Auto-Arrange feature in the inventory.
  • Fixed item duplication bug when using interactable cupboards.
  • Fixed issue where some harvestable items were not providing the player any more than one type of resource.
  • Updated some harvestable plants and items to provide additional secondary resources. For example, cutting Apple Trees may now provide Apples as well as Wooden Logs and Sticks.

Your story begins on a large open world island known as Eden-Nadir, a place renowned for its beauty and thriving wildlife.
