“We have been working on the product for 5 years, but creating an MMORPG is a monumental task especially with a relatively small team. We have created a product that we feel is extremely engaging and fun to play. However, we still have work to do with regards to bug fixing, polish, and fully realizing the vision of Legends of Aria.”

“We plan to stay in Early Access until we feel the game is relatively bug free and all of our features are at 100% complete. Our current estimate is 6 to 12 months from our Early Access Launch date.”

“Legends of Aria right now is a fully playable fantasy MMORPG. Character progression takes the form of gaining skill by performing actions, gaining experience points that go towards training new abilities, and acquiring money and items.

The world is massive with 4 cities, 4 smaller towns, 5 dungeons (one of them, Catacombs, is a massive raid dungeon), tons of interesting places to discover and explore.

Combat professions can complete missions, hunt the various hunting spots on the map, or adventure in dungeons.

Non-combat professions are primarily focused on harvesting resources and crafting items. Crafters can complete "crafting orders" for NPCs to learn new recipes and make money.

Player housing is a big part of the game. You can either buy a house from another player or build one yourself. To build a house you must first acquire a land deed, place it down on an empty flat piece of land, then you must get a housing blueprint, place it down, then bring the required resources to the plot to complete construction. Any item acquired in the world can be used as a housing decoration.”

“MMORPGs and even more so fully persistent sandbox MMORPGs rely heavily on active population. Our plan is to gradually reduce the price of the game over time to reduce the barrier to entry as in-game digital item sales grow to support the ongoing development of the product.”

Early Access Hotfix - August 20th

Hotfix Update - 8/20/19

  • Fixed issue with teleporting to invalid locations in Death's Lair within Catacombs.
  • Removed banker from Catacombs.
  • Added reagents and bandages to Catacombs merchant NPCs.
  • Essence stacks can no longer be placed in the essence slot of the enchanting table. Essences must be placed one essence per slot.
  • Made catacombs portal NPCs immortal.
  • Fixed issue with hired merchants walking away from their locations.

Hotfix Update - 8/19/19

  • Cotton from fields now stacks properly
  • Mission lairs now decay properly
  • Summon mount now requires the correct reagent: Essence
  • You can no longer cast Summon Mount in dungeons

Hotfix Update – 8/16/19

  • New Mission Type Added: Animal Taming Missions.
  • Missions can be accepted at a new NPC at any Stablemaster.
  • Missions mirror combat missions, requiring tamers to travel to the desired location and taming a quota of creatures.
  • Each enchant type applied to a piece of equipment must be for a unique property (Evasion, Accuracy etc).
  • Essence values adjusted.
  • Min roll of all enchants raised to 50% of max roll (big increase).
  • Evasion rune erroneous values fixed (Max 25 replaced by 8).
  • Added Taming Mission dispatchers at all stables.
  • Quest kills are now awarded for helping to kill a target, instead of solely on final blow.
  • Graveyards will now increase their spawn rates dynamically as more players are around.
  • Summon Mount and Etherealize spells and scrolls now work properly.
  • Valus tailor no longer trains Martial Prowess.
  • Fixed saddle tooltip listing Black Bear as a viable steed instead of Great Bear.
  • Can now gain magical attunement with wands.
  • Spell scrolls can once again be added to spellbooks by dropping them onto the “Drop spell scroll here” slot inside the spellbook.
  • Fixed a bug causing chickens, turkeys, and harpies to not drop meat.
  • Gazers and demons will no longer attack each other.
  • Updated the appearance of the Founders Cloak.
  • Fixed issue where players with negative vitality could not gain vitality back from bards or hearths.
  • Gold and Cobalt are now the correct weight (You may need to make a new ingot and create a new stack for this to take effect).
  • Unearthed treasure chests should now properly remain for 30 minutes in all cases.
  • Contempt Ogres now have a chance to drop Skull of the Void.
  • Removed bolts of cloth from tailor stores.
  • Doubled respawn time on town cotton.
  • Increased the yield of wild cotton plants.
  • Added cotton to Barren Lands and Black Forest.
  • Barren Lands cotton is scarcer but more fruitful.
  • Using bandages will no longer cancel “Auto Fire Arrow.”

Hotfix Update - 8/13/19

  • Fixed a bug prevent stacks on the ground from being split.
  • Prestige abilities can no longer be used without the required skill of their corresponding profession level.
  • Using "E" to toggle "Auto Fire Arrow" on a bow should now function properly.
  • Combat should no longer stop the "Auto Fire Arrow" ability.
  • "Auto Fire Arrow" should now function properly when triggered from a mounted position.
  • Ogres and wretches should no longer attack each other.
  • The Summon Mount recipe should now work properly in the inscription window.
  • Death spawn timer has been fixed.

Hotfix Update - 8/12/19

Now live:

  • Added durability tooltips to Allegiance mounts.
  • Skills are now rewarded at the end of fighter intro to evaluate equipped weapon more appropriately.
  • Bards may only be tipped by patrons within a distance of 10m.
  • Items placed for sale on a plot, which are not in a container, will now properly increase the plot sold items count.
  • Quests now give info text, play a sound, and a visual effect when they update.
  • Performing an action, such as equipping a new bow, will now cause "Auto Fire Arrow" to stop.
  • Bow "E" ability "Auto Fire Arrow" can now be toggled on/off by pressing "E" again.
  • Fixed issue with some with enchanting table allowing some enchants to be applied to invalid items.
  • Fixed bug that was causing player merchants to list items incorrectly.
  • The Void Channeler in Catacombs no longer fights with Void Mages.
  • Fixed issue with splitting items in containers set for sale.
  • Replaced Etherealize inscription recipe with Summon Mount recipe.
  • Renamed the Void Shadow required for the Grandmaster Mage profession to Greater Void Shadow to avoid confusion with the Void Shadows in Death's throne room.
  • Songs should now properly affect "friendly" player pets.  Area of effect and targeted riddles will no longer affect "friendly" player pets.
  • Starting gold now stacks with other gold.
  • Orcish Cleaver now spawns with appropriate properties.
  • Corrected Dark Lord (Rare Demon) loot.
  • Players are no longer able to use "Fire Arrow" ability on protected players.
  • Fixed issue with Helm/Pyro’s Landing sewers exiting and releasing corpses to wrong locations.

Coming soon in today’s client update:

  • Added the Ambience Volume slider to the Audio Settings.
  • Fixed the Catacombs sounds not being heard away from the spawn.
  • Fixed invisible textures for wolves and coyotes.

Hotfix Update - 8/9/19

  • Fixed negative karma players being able to loot kills that aren't theirs in protected areas.
  • Fixed a bug causing the "Begin Task" button to show up even when players didn't meet skill requirements.
  • Profession Tome tooltips updated to more accurately reflect their usage.
  • Fixed the appearance of Journeyman Rogue Tomes.
  • Lockpicking is now trainable by Eldeir Village tinkerer.
  • The Healing introduction quest now automatically starts during Mage and Fighter profession introduction quests.
  • The Skinning introduction quest now automatically starts during Tailor and Chef profession introduction quests.
  • Players are now granted 30 skill in the appropriate skills at the start of profession introduction quests instead of at the end.
  • Brawling added to fighter professions.
  • Improved instructions for Master Fighter, Master, and Rogue professions steps.
  • Changed the text color of some info messages.
  • Stat gains now show in the chat log.
  • Blood required for Apprentice Alchemist reduced to 10.
  • Fixed bug where damage enchants and properties were using an incorrect damage calculation.

Hotfix Update - 8/8/19

  • Items can't be picked up while trading, except from your backpack or the trade window.
  • Start a Profession quest now requires the player to actually open their professions UI to start the task.
  • Apprentice Mining profession task requirement lowered from 500 to 200 iron ore.
  • Monsters can no longer harm themselves with their own Meteor spells.
  • Fixed issue that was causing plot bids to fail for players.
  • Players should now see a notification when they are granted skill from a quest completion.
  • Runes can now be marked and teleported to in the Black Forest. The area around and including the swamp is excluded and will not allow marking/teleporting.
  • Players who are playing through steam can now redeem a discord verified account code through the /discord command.
  • Musicianship gain removed from targeted riddles.

Hotfix Update - 8/7/19

  • Fixed Fighter/Mage Tier 4 profession quest requirement issues.
  • Fixed fighter profession progress not displaying properly in UI for lancers.
  • Archery now counts as a weapon skill for the Fighter profession.
  • Quest "Chef Part I" can now be completed.
  • Bards can now only be tipped when they are near a hearth.
  • If a guildmaster transfers the guild to an officer and then leaves the guild it will no longer cause the guild to disband.
  • Vitality gained from hearth changed from 2 to 1.
  • Fixed charge cooldown.
  • Concus now properly reduces the targets mana by 50%.
  • Upped music and entertainment skill gain.
  • Increased archery gain rate (due to it's now fixed speed).
  • Fixed free horses not being given out to initiates.
  • Chicken now drops stringy meat.
  • Blacksmith table recipe is now obtainable through carpentry crafting orders.
  • Saddles no longer require recipes.
  • Moved the "Notching Arrow" progress bar to above the players head to stop it from blocking other progress bars.
  • NPCs (Gatekeepers) can no longer be killed.
  • Stone is now available to be mined.
  • Fixed players with under -10k karma from not being able to attack blues in wilderness.
  • All NPCs in founders lounge should now be set to invulnerable.
  • Fixed Invalid Password prompt on "Back" from Character Select Menu in steam builds.
  • Artifacts
  • Artifacts are powerful pieces of equipment offering a wealth of item properties, procs and effects.
  • 18 New major Artifacts have been added to Legends of Aria, 15 of which are available in the Catacombs boss encounters and 3 at the Wilderness Awakening spawns.
  • 10 Minor artifacts have also been added to world drops, replacing previously named items.
  • New Season Furniture Rares
  • Season 2 Furniture and Rare Furniture crates have released with 20 new items of furniture.
