Lo que dicen los desarrolladores:

¿Por qué acceso anticipado?

«Multiplayer is LIVE and READY.
We really believe the game is best with both multiplayer and single player modes so we went early access primarily to finish single player mode while people start playing multiplayer and give us feedback.

The game is *almost* done. Specifically the multiplayer gameplay is great and ready for real players to pound away and have a great time. The discs have interesting mechanics and feel quite different from each other. We have cool new levels for multiplayer and dedicated servers are up and running.

While we finish the single player mode and get other features into the game (like some new equipment and attribution), we'd love to see the community play the game and give us feedback to balance the game more and to overall smoothen out the online experience. Let us know what you like and don't.

Thanks!»

¿Cuánto tiempo va a estar este juego en acceso anticipado aproximadamente?

«We plan to be full release sometime during summer 2017.»

¿Cuán diferente será la versión completa de la versión de acceso anticipado?

«The primary difference will be the inclusion of a single player mode called "League Challenge". This is a tournament mode where you play against various AI with their own personalities and levels of difficulty. This mode needs some TLC after all of the major changes that have occurred for multiplayer gaming (like new throw mechanics, join/leave anytime during matches, different scoring, etc).

Features we would like to add:
- League Challenge (single player mode): compete against 30 other teams through 4 tournaments with varied AI and challenge levels. Play 1v1, 1v2 or 1v3 to prove your skill.
- New Equipment: new helmets, new uniforms. We have 2 female uniforms in the works and 2 new helmets
- Equipment Attribution: we want the equipment to influence gameplay. Not to completely change the game but to influence and accentuate different parts of your play style.
- New Disc (Kyokusen): we have another disc we've been tuning. It's special and has required a lot of changes. It's mostly nuance stuff. We should have this one ready soon.
- Stealth Mode: This is something I really want. In the garden or in the basement of the pyramid where it is dark - I want a way to power down the disc and sneak around.
- One more multiplayer level: we have chunks of another level but don't have it assembled yet
- Better Oculus Rift Touch Support: Disc League was built for SteamVR. SteamVR supports Rift. We have heard some beta testers say they have been using Rift during all our tests and that it works great. Once we verify internally that this is the case, we'll update the supported platforms. We would also like to add some specific controls to help Rift players playing with 180 degree setups.
- Netcode tuning: from experiences online with you, we will see if we can tighten up the netcode smoothing and prediction algorithms
- General useability updates: also from user feedback we would like to make adjustments to make the game more comfortable to use

To be clear, single player mode is much different from the multiplayer experience. It takes place in smaller arenas with no cover to hide behind, targeting is disabled, and possibly teleportation will be disabled as well. Single player league challenge is a rawer test of skill in targeting and defense in fast, face to face, encounters against many teams of AI, one match at a time. It is simpler but very satisfying and works well as a single player experience.
We tried this type of gameplay as a multiplayer experience and found it not as fun, hence the levels and features you see in the multiplayer experience now. Maybe we'll blog about the experience later, for now we just want to work hard and deliver a great and more complete game.»

¿Cuál es el estado actual de la versión de acceso anticipado?

«The multiplayer game is ready.
If you want to jump online and compete in disc throwing combat... it is ready.

The main reason for going Early Access is that we don't have single player done. Besides that there are those side things, like equipment attribution and a few more assets, maybe another level.

We believe the game will feel more rounded with single player, and we busted our tails to make the single player fun. So we're pushing the multiplayer out now while we finish that.»

¿El precio del juego será diferente durante y después del acceso anticipado?

«We plan on increasing the price after early access. We are going to increase it because we feel that the game offers more value as a multiplayer and single player game, instead of a pure multiplayer game as it is now.»

¿Cómo tienes planeado involucrar a la comunidad en tu proceso de desarrollo?

«Right here, through the Steam forums we would like to hear what people think.
Our plan is to stick to the features we've outlined in the Early Access section so that we can get out of early access but if something in our design needs to change then we will try to adapt.
Please let us know what is awesome and what is not.»

Acerca de este juego

In multiplayer Disc League you engage with others in skilled medium range disc combat. Master your timing of throws and shielding, trick opponents, deflect their discs, teleport to key strategic locations and earn the most points by bashing opponents with well placed and well timed throws. The gameplay is fast, you must make split second decisions and continually work to gain greater positioning as the situations change in these free for all battles.

Disc League has plenty of features now but even more are on the way.

FEATURES

  • Dedicated Servers currently in the USA, soon expanding into Europe. Dedicated servers means lower latency, better online physics and fairer gameplay.
  • Networked Physics make for dynamic gameplay where battles are never ever the same.
  • Unique Disc Characteristics, some are better for arced throws while others are better at the straight and fast thrusts.
  • Character Customization offers various helmets and suits, each with their own influences on your movement, targeting and more
  • Dynamic Environments designed for unique gameplay and stand apart aesthetics. You must vary your strategy for each level to adjust to new distances, pacing, types of cover and special places to access via teleportation.
  • Intelligent Bots with their own personalities and abilities are available to compete with, allowing you to play anytime you'd like.

IN DEVELOPMENT

We have many new features in various stages of development. Some are near complete and will be released soon. Here is a roadmap of things to come.
  • League Challenge (Single Player mode) is a sequence of tournaments where you compete against 30 other teams through 4 events of increasing skill and difficulty. Each team has unique AI with varying skills and personalities. For players seeking a real challenge, the tournaments can be played in 1v2(Hard) or 1v3(Iron Man) modes of difficulty.
  • More Gear is nearing completion, including 2 more female uniforms, 2 more helmets and 1 more disc. The new disc (Kyokusen), which means "curve" in Japanese, is intended for players skilled in the use of arced throws. Arced throws are a great way to get around overly defensive players.
  • More Gameplay like power-ups, environmental effects, new match types are all in development
  • More Arenas are on their way. Close quarters 1v1 arenas have already been created and are being used in single player modes. Other multiplayer maps exist in various degrees of completion and will be released as they are completed.

COMBAT DISCS

Each disc has unique characteristics that enable it fly faster, stabilize better, curve stronger, generate shields and offer some degree of assisted targeting.

Current Discs offered in the League
Protector (upper left) a powerful and stable disc with excellent defense. Easier to throw straight and still capable of arcs as needed.
Faith (right side) a balanced disc with great speed, curvability and defense. An excellent disc for any situation.
Shita (lower left) a light and fast disc requiring a skilled hand to keep stable but deadly quick in the hands of a veteran.

ENVIRONMENTS

Each environment is unique, requiring learning, skill and adjustment to make the most of each battle.

The Station is a complex tunnel network with various sized rooms intertwined. Use your disc to teleport to higher ground, then jump down the chutes to literally get the drop on unsuspecting opponents.

Shroom Garden an interesting planet spotted with giant mushrooms and other plant life. Teleport to the top of the mother shroom in the center to gaze upon the beautiful purple alien sky with its bright blue star and colored fog. Then jump down below and use the smaller fungi as organic cover in battle.

Dark Pyramid is a smaller, more intense map composed of 2 independent levels, recommended for 4 players. The main area is a neon pyramid surrounded by angled walls, great for bouncing discs into opponents. Use the teleporters to warp below into the very dark basement where you'll need to use your disc light to see. Down here you'll find paneling, computers and other equipment to use as cover while you stock other opponents by following their disc lights.
