What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We are a small team making our first big game for Steam. We got greenlit thanks to the community and we want to thank you for making this game concept the best experience it can be. We will be working based on the feedback we get from everyone, including you!
Also, the game isn't fully done, we plan to add new content to the game before saying it is done.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We hope to it will be completed in a year. If we find a big support from the community and they think more stuff can be added, we may delay it a bit more in order to add those things too. But our main goal is to finish everything we have planned in a year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The game, during the early access, will have big changes regarding the art side. Most of the current art is placeholder since we were just testing the mechanics. We plan to improve the art a lot in order to reach a better quality.
About the gameplay itself, we plan to make more aditions like different levels of AI and more content to the PvP. Though it is true that the main core of the gameplay is complete, it may differ a bit based on community feedback but probably there will be only balance changes.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The actual version is already playable. Up to four friends are able to play now locally, or you can play against the AI.
Because the game isn't finished yet, there are still a few bugs that can appear, if they show up, please let us know so we can fix them.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features. Though it will not differ too much from the original price. We launch it in early access for people who want to participate giving feedback.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want to give an important role to the community during the development process. We plan to take into account all the feedback from the people in order to make Witchcraft a better game. We can't promise to make every change they ask of us but we are totally open to changes as long we find them possible to do and useful, even if they take a lot of work!

NEW UPDATE - December 19

Hello, everyone!

Silky Smooth Studios has a new update for Witchcraft. We focused on fixing things, making better controllers and also adding more content.

The three changes are listed below:
  • Fixed a bug where you couldn't pick custom skills with joystick arrows.
  • The following skills no longer impact with a wall when casting if you are next to it:
    • Arctic Strike
    • Crystal Saw
    • Igneous Cloud
    • Mjolnir's Call
    • Phoenix Assault
    • Sonic Blast
    • Voltaic Link
  • The keyboard controls have been changed. Now the player will move with WASD, aim with mouse and fire with Q, E, Left click and Right click. These controls are subject to modifications but as soon as we have something defined we will work on the control's interface.
  • We are adding with this update chromes and badges for the Steam version. They will need to be approved by Steam first, but we hope they will start showing up soon.
So that's everything for now. Please let us know if you have any suggestion or if you find something wrong.

Best regards,

Lead Programmer of Silky Smooth Studios.

About This Game

In Witchcraft you will be able to create your own character configuration and fight against your friends, or AI, in 1vs.1 or 2vs.2 battles. The way you customize your character and the way you manage yourself in the battlefield, will have huge consequences in leading you to victory or defeat.

  • Pick 4 spells from a total of 18 unique spells.
  • Combine their powers to get an advantage over your enemies.
  • Synergyze your skills with your partner´s in 2 vs. 2 combat
  • Go full melee, range, support or even combine them to make unique fighting strategies.

  • Battle 1 vs. 1 or team up for a 2 vs. 2 battle.
  • Use your support skills to control your enemy movement.
  • Cast ranged spells to attack from a safe position or run towards your enemy to deal massive damage with melee magic.
  • Place yourself wisely in the battlefield to destroy your enemies without getting killed.
  • Become the most skillful and smartest player.

Pick four skills from a total of eighteen unique skills. Each skill you pick, will have synergy with the other ones so choose wisely. Also, to make your character more customizable, each skill will have two attributes to pick from. These attributes will help you maximize your strategy in order to make the most out of your character.

When battling you will use the strategy you had planned but bare in mind that yours will be against your enemy strategy. Also, not everything is strategy, you will also assert yourself by your skills and fast reaction to defeat your enemy.

The battles will be of 1vs.1 or 2vs.2. Both teams will start in the middle of the arena and will make their way through to the other's base by killing their enemies.

Once you defeat the enemy team, you move forward to the opposing base where you will have to re-plan your strategy, with the skills you already have, in order to destroy it and win the game.

We are an independent team of three game developers. Even though we don't have very defined roles, we count with an artist Hugo Miraballes, a game designer Martín Martelletti and a programmer Facundo Balboa.
