What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“To be able to add more features with community feedback”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“3 - 6 months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We are planning on expanding the game by adding more pirates, enemy types, ports, sirens and worlds to explore. ”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“PIRACY is a single-player naval action-adventure set across the Solar Seas, a strange circular world of islands, ports, Pirate Kings and mysterious Sirens.

The game currently features its core sailing and ship-to-ship combat systems, an introductory tutorial, an explorable world, distinct enemy vessels and powerful Pirate King encounters. Players command the APHELION, navigating the solar winds, fighting hostile ships, collecting resources, and visiting ports to repair and upgrade their vessel.

Exploration also introduces the seven Sirens, who offer guidance and gradually reveal the world's story, alongside discoverable music-bearing vessels, a growing soundtrack, and a Map Room for charting discoveries and following progression.

The Early Access period will focus on refining the existing adventure: improving combat balance, enemy behaviour, performance, visual presentation, storytelling and progression. Some encounters and systems are still being polished, and players may encounter bugs or unfinished details as development continues.

Our aim is to build on the playable foundations of PIRACY while gradually bringing the complete voyage to its intended level of polish.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“we plan to increase the price slightly as more features get added. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The Steam Community will be an important part of PIRACY's development throughout Early Access.

We'll use Steam Community Discussions to gather feedback, suggestions and bug reports, and Steam announcements and patch notes to communicate updates and development progress.

We're particularly interested in hearing about players' experiences exploring the Solar Seas: which encounters they enjoy, how ship combat and sailing feel, whether progression and upgrades are satisfying, and which parts of the world they'd like to see developed further.

Player feedback will help us prioritise balancing, accessibility, performance improvements, quality-of-life changes and refinements to the story and exploration experience. We'll also be open to suggestions for smaller world-building details, environmental interactions and additional content where these complement the game's existing direction.

PIRACY is being developed with a strong creative vision, but there's plenty of room for the community to help shape how that vision evolves. Constructive criticism, unexpected discoveries and even the occasional spectacular shipwreck are all welcome.”

About This Game

Sail a battered ship across a strange Solar Sea. Fight eccentric Pirate Kings, meet sharp-tongued Sirens, upgrade APHELION, and recover records that grow your soundtrack. A stylish naval action-adventure with a laid-back streak.

A LITTLE PIRACY ON THE SOLAR SEA.

APHELION has seen better days. She's still fast, though, and there's plenty of sea left to cross.

Set sail across a strange ring of islands, harbours and dangerous waters. Follow the solar wind, pick your fights, improve your battered ship and see what's waiting beyond the next stretch of open water.

SAIL YOUR OWN WAY

Navigate the Solar Sea by wind, explore its ports and islands, and take detours whenever something catches your eye. There's a purpose to the voyage, but no great need to hurry.

MAKE A LITTLE TROUBLE

Bring your turret and broadsides to bear against rival ships, mines, rammers and the formidable Pirate Kings. Learn each enemy's habits, make the most of your momentum, and keep APHELION afloat long enough to fight another day.

MEET THE SIRENS

Seven Sirens inhabit the Ring. They're curious, confident and occasionally rather unimpressed by their Little Captain. Discover their stories, listen to their conversations and find a few good reasons to keep sailing.

COLLECT THE MUSIC

Across the Solar Sea, curious PHONON record ships broadcast their tunes over the water. Defeat them to recover new grooves and add the songs to your sailing soundtrack.

KEEP A RECORD OF THE JOURNEY

Discover ships, places and people in the Map Room, collect resources and upgrade APHELION in port. The Ring has its share of secrets, odd characters and things best encountered for yourself.

A little danger, a few new friends, and a rather good cassette collection.
