About This Game

Your cube shoots on its own. You build the gun.

The Horde Always Wins is an idle auto-shooter. Your cube moves and fires by itself while the swarm closes in from every side. You spend the XP it earns on upgrades, bolt the parts monsters drop onto your weapon, and watch the numbers climb.

Build your weapon from what the swarm drops

  • 48 parts, 8 slots: barrels, magazines, ammo, scopes, muzzles, stocks, charms and underbarrels. Each part comes in four rarities with random affixes.
  • 5 families: Military, Hunter, Pyro, Cryo and Storm. Stack parts of one family to unlock its set bonuses, and mix fire, frost, lightning and explosions.
  • Forge and graft: sacrifice spare parts to level up the ones you keep, or extract an effect from one part and graft it onto another.
  • Loadouts: keep up to three weapons and switch in a click.

Wire runes into combos

Carve runes into your weapon and connect them into circuits: when something happens, something else fires. Lose an HP and slow the whole crowd. Land a multi-crit and fire a volley all around you. Kill an elite and pull every part on the ground to you. 6 triggers, 9 effects and 4 modifiers to combine, each rune fusing up to rank V.

Die, trade, come back stronger

The horde always gets you in the end. Reach the threat goal before it does and you earn a prestige: trade max HP for permanent perks, then start a run that climbs higher. A boss holds the line every 10 threat levels. When you hit a wall, farm parts and come back. Reach threat 100 to face the Swarm Heart.

Numbers go up. Way, way up.

Part levels have no cap. Push them into the hundreds of thousands, with damage in scientific notation and hordes of thousands of monsters on screen. Tune your cube's tactics (how close it stays, what it shoots first, how greedy it is for loot) and let it play.

Weekly raid: every player vs. one giant boss

Every Monday a giant boss shows up, and every player fights the same one on a shared health bar. In the raid, levels are synced: your build counts, not your hours. When the boss falls, every raider gets a legendary part with a fourth affix. Weekly and all-time leaderboards rank the highest threat and the longest runs.

Dress up your cube

67 items to unlock by playing: colors, shapes, eyes, hats, auras and trails. Your outfit follows you into other players' raids.

Everything in one place

The Codex lists every rune, part, affix, family, monster, upgrade and perk you have discovered, with their effects at every level and rank.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

The Horde Always Wins is made by a solo developer who makes every decision: the game design, the balance, the look and every feature. AI coding assistants helped write parts of the code, including the code that draws the game's graphics, and some in-game and store text was drafted with AI, then reviewed and edited by the developer. The store art started as drawings on paper, rendered through the game's own engine. No AI image, music or voice generation is used, and the trailer music is a CC0 track by a human composer. Nothing is generated by AI while you play.
