What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Signal Wake already has a playable Expedition, repeatable runs, and a range of ship builds. Early Access gives us time to refine combat readability, upgrade balance, objective variety, and the overall feel of the game with feedback from more players. We want to learn which builds are fun, where the difficulty feels unfair, and what needs clearer explanation before calling the game complete.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Early Access to last approximately 3-6 months. This is an estimate rather than a fixed release date, and may change depending on player feedback and the work needed to reach a polished, stable full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to build on the existing game with further balancing, clearer combat and objective feedback, improved onboarding, and more visual and audio polish. We also aim to expand build variety and cosmetic customization with additional content informed by player feedback. The focus is on refining and enriching the current experience; the exact additions may change as development progresses.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version includes a playable Expedition with an ending and the option to continue into Endless, plus Boss Rush, multiple ships, difficulty options, and challenge modifiers. Runs include upgrade combinations, rare weapon conversions, randomized objectives, optional jobs, and unlockable ship cosmetics. Keyboard/mouse and controller play are supported. Balance, presentation, and content are still being refined, and players may encounter bugs. Online leaderboards are not currently included.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to keep the same base price throughout Early Access and at full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to use Steam Community discussions to gather bug reports, balance feedback, and suggestions, and share development updates through Steam announcements. Reports about confusing objectives, controller issues, difficulty spikes, and upgrade combinations are especially useful. Player feedback will help us prioritize fixes and improvements, while keeping the scope manageable for a small independent studio.”

About This Game

An abandoned station. A distress signal. A ship that needs better guns.

Signal Wake is a single-player sci-fi survival shooter set inside the Kepler Array. You’re there to find the missing crew, but the station’s defenses are still running—and they don’t want you there.

Fight your way through ten sectors, piece together what happened, and build a ship that can get everyone out.

Build something ridiculous

Collect salvage and choose upgrades as you level up. Fit extra guns, armor, engines, and support modules that visibly change your ship. Search wrecks for rare weapon conversions, then build around what you find.

You might end up throwing lightning through a crowd or punching shots through a line of enemies. Try different combinations. See what works. Get attached to a build you probably shouldn’t risk taking into the next room.

Watch where you’re flying

Weapons fire automatically, with a choice of automatic or manual aiming. That leaves you free to dodge, dash, and decide when to use your EMP to stun enemies and clear incoming bullets.

Enemy groups can get messy. Healers keep things alive that you thought you’d finished off. Shielded enemies make you change your approach. Bosses have their own attacks to learn, and standing still is rarely a good answer.

Take a detour

Some sectors need more than firepower to clear. Redirect beams, move cargo, and solve flight puzzles while keeping the enemies off your back. Puzzle layouts vary between runs.

Optional jobs offer extra rewards, and a tougher vault puzzle can open a shop stocked with exclusive equipment. You can stay in a cleared sector to finish something you missed before moving on.

Keep the run going

Finish the Expedition and you can take your build into Endless. Or start a Boss Rush run, where every sector throws bosses at you alongside the usual swarms.

Between runs, spend earned currency on ship attachments, different trails, and auras. Defeating bosses also unlocks trophies for your ship.

  • Ships with different hulls, handling, and passive abilities.
  • Difficulty settings and optional challenge modifiers.
  • An enemy glossary that fills in as you encounter new threats.
  • Mouse and keyboard or controller support.

Signal Wake is in Early Access. The Expedition is playable from beginning to end. We’re continuing to work on balance, polish, customization, and content, with player feedback helping us decide what needs attention.
