About This Game

Shipwrecked on a small island, you and your crew owe Chum for your passage. He wants it paid in fish, and the bill grows every day. If you come up short at sundown, the run is over.

Chum: Bottom Feeders is a first-person fishing game for one to four players.

Fishing

Charge your cast and watch the float. Strike when it dips, not when a fish only nibbles. Then reel in, and let go when the fish runs. Keep the line tight, but not too tight. Bigger fish pay more and fight harder. The bait you use decides what bites.

Everything else

The quota grows faster than a rod alone can keep up with. Set traps and nets in the shallows, and climb the palms for coconuts. Dive the wreck you came in on and send up what you find. Cook your catch for a better price, or bet it in Chum's casino under the sea.

Every morning brings something new. It can be a storm, a fog or a shoal of gold fish. Some mornings, fish grow legs and walk out of the surf to steal from your crate.

Together

Up to four players share one island, one balance and one quota. Each player has their own gear. When a crewmate goes down, you can pull them back up. When the whole crew comes up short, everyone pays.

Some nights, the quota is the least of your problems.

The game has simulated casino games: blackjack, roulette, a race bet and slot machines. Players bet only items they caught in the game. There is no real money, and nothing can be bought. Players fight creatures and pirates with fishing rods, nets, knives and fists, without blood. Some catches can trigger a jump scare, which players can turn off in Settings.
