About This Game

Roll for the Crown brings board-game route choices, ranch management, and racehorse development together in one continuous career. Every turn begins with a roll, then asks you to choose a route, invest, train, and carry a season of decisions onto the track.

The current release is version 0.9.
It includes the six-chapter Story Mode, Free Play, the ten-year Full Career, and the complete progression from local competition to the world championship. Future updates will continue refining balance, controls, audio, and visual assets.

Every Roll Opens a New Training Decision

After every roll, you still choose the route. Protect your horse's energy on a safer path, detour for training, secure resources first, or invest in facilities for a long-term advantage. Branches, transport, cards, and events keep changing the board. The dice set your range; you decide what the move is worth.

Turn Every Ranch Investment into Track Performance

Speed, Stamina, Burst, and Spirit shape how each horse performs. Plan training, construct and upgrade facilities, equip gear, play cards, and decide when a growing horse should become your new lead runner. Every race brings the results of your long-term management onto the track.

Six Regions, Each with Its Own Strategic Rhythm

Your career crosses the local countryside, harbor coast, mountain highlands, frozen lakes, city night meet, and world tour. Each region introduces its own route topology, events, facilities, travel rules, and championship goals, creating a new balance of time, resources, and risk.

The six regions change more than the scenery—they change how you read the board and plan a route. Forest shortcuts, harbor markets, highland roads, snowfield trains, city street networks, and world-tour connections each have recognizable terrain and facility layouts.

Call the Race—and Take Training into Your Own Hands

Choose a running style before the race, then react with an early push or a steadier pace as the contest develops. Training includes Horse Hurdles, Hay Bale Harvest, Tokachi Ban'ei Racing, and Manure Cleanup. Performance earns an extra training bonus, while skipping a minigame still grants the normal training result with no additional energy cost.

Three Ways to Build a Champion's Career

  • Story Mode: Clear six chapters in order, face regional rivals, complete unique goals, and unlock new content.
  • Free Play: Use maps and features unlocked through the story to create a custom challenge and victory plan.
  • Full Career: Manage resources, development, and succession across ten years. Advance through Local, National, G3, G2, and G1 championships before taking on the World Championship.

Every championship is the sum of the routes you chose, the facilities you built, and the horses you raised. Begin with one young horse and limited resources, then build a ranch—and a road to the crown—that belongs to you.
