About This Game

November 1177. Saladin's army has crossed into the Kingdom of Jerusalem and fanned out to raid its villages. The sixteen-year-old king, Baldwin IV, known to history as the Leper King, waits behind the walls of Ascalon with a handful of knights.

Crown of Jerusalem is a historical strategy game set in the Levant, from the First Crusade to the Third. Rule a kingdom, a caliphate, an empire or a military order. Appoint officers, raise armies, make and break alliances, and see if you can change how the story ends.

Features

  • Five scenarios, 1098–1191. The Holy Lance, The Second Crusade, The Lion and the Boy King, The Eve of Hattin and The Lionheart. Each offers 10 to 16 playable factions.

  • 322 historical figures. Latin, Muslim, Byzantine and Armenian lords, commanders, scholars and queens, each with their own abilities, ideals, friends and rivals. Legendary heroes such as Roland can also join the cast.

  • History, and what might have been. 104 historical events. In 41 of them you decide what happens next, and some choices lead to chapters history never wrote.

  • Campaigns, sieges and duels. 47 cities across the Levant, Anatolia, Mesopotamia and Egypt. Command armies in the field with a choice of 100 tactics, besiege castles and settle things in one-on-one duels.

  • Diplomacy and intrigue. Alliances, coalitions, envoys and spy networks, plus an optional fog of war for experienced players.
  • Ties of blood and oath. Arrange marriages and swear oaths of brotherhood to bind your inner circle together.
  • Spectator mode. Hand every faction over to the AI and watch the century unfold.
  • A soundtrack of 30 tracks made for this game.
