Val Fortuna is a tactical roguelite deckbuilder played on a checkerboard.

Play as the Gambler, a compulsive player who roams the city’s casinos.

Slaughter every Scarlet who crosses your table and climb the ranks all the way to the Maskmaker, master of the city!

And remember: what happens in Val Fortuna stays in Val Fortuna.

COMBAT: In a world of money and blood, you’re just a pawn.

In Val Fortuna, you play as a pawn, and your fate is decided on a checkerboard.

You are the Gambler, and you always know your opponent’s next move.

Will you risk cancelling their next action, set up a devastating combo, or minimize the damage as much as possible?

Luck deals the cards, but you make the call:

• Craft your own build: token deck, cocktails, artifacts, stats

• Control the board: shuffle pieces, stack them, and destroy enemy entities!

• Move your pawn: skip your turn, or collect what you need to answer your opponent’s next action.

But the house cheats, and it will interfere directly with your board:

• Summoned entities with a variety of behaviors (coin thieves, token movers)

• Tile decay (poison, glue)

• Harmful effects on your pawn

When the night takes a turn for the worse, order a drink from the waitress... or go all in: the Fortuna power triggers all your tokens at once!

MAP: Life is a game... of the goose!

Between fights, roll the die across a different map every run. Rewards, traps, fights, games, special events: every tile counts, all the way to the casino director.

Your die is more than a simple roll: aim, control the strength of your throw, and make it bounce off bumpers, burst open briefcases, and hit switches.

Every casino has its secrets! With intersections and teleporters, choose your route based on your condition... and your wallet. The money you win at the tables can be spent at bars, hotels, with the dealer, or at the souvenir shop.

Tonight, the Gambler will fall. No matter: the Maskmaker will always hand you a coin to play again, because the house never loses a customer.
