About This Game

How long can you hold the line?

Frontline: Hold the Line is a WWII tactical roguelite built around one question: how long can your defences hold? Dig in, deploy your men and guns, and prepare for an enemy that grows more dangerous with every wave: more infantry, heavier armour, and attacks from the sky.

There is no single right answer. Every run asks you to find your own mix of soldiers, vehicles, fortifications and fire support, and to see how far it can carry you.

Between waves, turn an open field into a fortified line. Trenches, bunkers, wire, mines and gun pits go wherever you think the attack will hit hardest. Every trench, mine and gun pit has a purpose. Make your preparations count before the first shot is fired.

When the line starts to bend, reach for the radio. Artillery, strafing runs, bombers and smoke can turn a lost wave around. Call them in at the right moment, and make sure your own men aren't caught in the blast.

Riflemen, machine gunners, snipers, medics, engineers, Sherman tanks and more: a growing arsenal of men and machines, with countless ways to combine them. Soldiers gain experience and rise through levels as they survive combat. But they can also panic, fall wounded and die. Keep them alive, and they become the backbone of your line.

Fight well to earn medals and ribbons, then pin them on before your next battle. Each one gives your force an edge, so every new defence starts a little stronger than the last.

Fight across the fields of rural France, the frozen Ardennes Forest and the outskirts of a French town. Same war, a different battlefield every time.

Think you can hold the line? Test your skills in the free demo.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Frontline: Hold the Line was built by a solo developer working with Claude, Anthropic’s AI. Claude created most of the game’s content under the developer’s direction: the programming, the 3D models and textures, the UI and icons, the in-game writing (soldier thoughts, stories, the Commander’s Handbook), sound effects, the translations into 13 languages, and the store art and trailer, which were captured from the game itself. The developer designed the game, directed every feature, and tested and reviewed everything before it went in. Music, fonts and a few icons are licensed third-party works, not AI-generated. The game does not generate any AI content while you play.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

War violence throughout: soldiers on both sides are shot, blown up and killed, and your own men die permanently. Stylized low-poly blood is shown on hits by default and can be turned off in Settings (Gore). No dismemberment.
