About This Game

Makers & Challengers is a 2D pixel-art turn-based RPG where you can create your own boss battles and challenge bosses created by other players.

Choose your favorite boss and customize its stats, skills, and actions to create an original boss battle.

Once completed, you can publish your boss battles online and take on battles created by other players.

Choose Your Boss and Decide How It Fights

Choose from a variety of unique bosses including slimes, knights, wolves, dragons, golems, mechanical samurai, and astronauts. Customize their stats, attacks, skills, and actions to create your own boss battles.

There are two creation modes. SIMPLE lets you create boss battles easily with basic settings.

HARDCORE allows you to customize abilities and action conditions in greater detail, giving you control over when a boss acts and what it does.

Will you create a boss that overwhelms players with raw power or one that requires them to understand its attack patterns? Even the same boss can offer a completely different battle depending on how you configure it.

Read the Boss's Moves and Fight Alongside Your Allies

When taking on boss battles, you'll have five allies with different roles, elements, and skills. Consider combinations of abilities and skills as you take on turn-based boss battles.

Some bosses can't be defeated by simply attacking repeatedly. How will you prepare for the next attack? When should you use your most powerful skills? Every decision can determine the outcome of the battle.

Spectacular Pixel-Art Battles and Awakening

Each boss skill has its own dedicated battle animation. Flashy attacks and special moves brought to life through pixel art make boss battles even more exciting.

Some bosses also have an "Awakening" ability that can be activated when specific conditions are met. After awakening, not only do the animations change, but the attacks they unleash change as well. Strategies that worked before may no longer be effective after awakening.

We've also put special care into creating spectacular animations for both the moment of awakening and the attacks that follow.

Share Your Boss Battles with Other Players

Publish your completed boss battles online and let other players challenge them. Of course, you can also take on boss battles created by others.

Why does this boss act this way? What kind of strategy did its creator have in mind? Creating your own boss battles might change the way you look at bosses designed by other players.

Boss battles are shared asynchronously. Rather than real-time competitive or cooperative multiplayer, you can enjoy creating and challenging boss battles at your own pace.
