About This Game

Enemies are advancing along the road toward your headquarters—and firepower is not the only thing you can change. You can reshape the road itself.

Cannon War is a pixel-art strategy tower-defense game spanning Ancient, Modern, and Future Warfare. Build towers and barricades to reshape enemy routes, then construct a defense with limited battlefield resources against increasingly powerful assaults. Every deployment changes the battlefield: extend the enemy’s route, funnel them into concentrated fire, or preserve space for future construction—the choice is yours.

Reshape Routes, Create Firing Lanes

The battlefield uses dynamic pathfinding. Towers, barricades, and destructible obstacles all affect the routes enemies take. You can force them to make a detour, but you cannot completely block every path to your headquarters.

Use terrain and careful placement to create firing lanes where single-target attacks, area damage, control effects, and damage over time work together. One seemingly simple deployment may transform the rest of the battle.

Fight Across Three Eras

The campaign contains 21 sequential stages divided among Ancient, Modern, and Future Warfare. As the eras advance, both the enemies and your arsenal continue to evolve:

  • In the Ancient era, fight with longbows, crossbows, catapults, meteor hammers, and early cannons;

  • In the Modern era, deploy firearms, flame, freezing weapons, rockets, and air cannons;

  • In the Future era, command photon, laser, radiation, lightning, and fusion weapons.

Each era presents different battlefield rules, scales of power, and defensive pressure. Weapons from earlier eras remain available—deciding how to combine equipment from different periods is also part of the strategy.

Expand Your Permanent Arsenal

Complete stages to unlock core weapons and earn coins used to purchase additional branches of the arsenal. Weapons and coins you have acquired persist between stages, allowing your tactical options to expand as the campaign progresses.

Towers can also be assigned target priorities and switched between different targeting modes. Against fast enemies, dense formations, or high-health targets, adjusting how your towers attack can be just as important as building more of them.

Finite Stages, Clear Objectives

Every campaign stage has a fixed number of waves. Survive every assault to complete the stage. The standard campaign does not require you to endure indefinitely: study the map, deploy your defenses, adapt to changing conditions, and win the battle.

The campaign connects its three eras through a story about the evolution of weapons and warfare, accompanied by historical snapshots based on real sources. The stages are not recreations of historical battles, but parts of a fictional allegory about war, technology, and choice.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

This game contains frequent but non-realistic pixel-art combat. Players use crossbows, firearms, explosives, fire, poison gas, radiation, and sci-fi weapons to attack humanoid enemies. When defeated, enemies dissolve into abstract pixel fragments and may leave dark stains of various colors on the ground. The game does not contain realistic blood, organs, dismemberment, brutal executions, nudity, or sexual content. The story includes themes of war, death, and the development of weapons technology.
