About This Demo

On the eve of the Blossom Festival, Count Corvin, a crow with a passion for collecting, steals the five blossoms of the Old Cherry. Without them the seasons of Hopwood Valley stand still. Little Pinky sets out to bring the blossoms home, and soon finds out that the valley has a story everyone has forgotten.

What's in the demo

• The prologue: the Blossom Festival night and the theft of the blossoms.

• Hopwood village with Grandma Willow, Owlet, Dude and the Old Cherry.

• The first two regions of the full game: Cherry Meadow and Leaffall Thicket, large connected regions of rooms with paths leading every way.

• Two bosses, each with its own way of fighting and its own memory: Bodun the Ram Beetle and Conehurler the Squirrel Gunner.

A cozy fairy tale with a secret

On the surface it is bright and funny; deeper down lie a quiet sadness and a mystery. Nobody dies here: defeated creatures remember who they used to be.

• Lanterns let you rest, save and travel from lantern to lantern. The region map fills in as you explore.

• Hidden cherry pits, memory stones and secret walls reward a curious eye.

The Whisper

Hold a button and hear what creatures, villagers and even old things are thinking. Little by little, their thoughts begin to tell the valley's forgotten story.

Three more regions are waiting there: Misty Bog, Snowy Pass and Corvin's Tower. Also new abilities, three more bosses, 12 badges, Martha the Badger's shop, the Dreams of the Old Cherry and a secret ending for those who remember everyone.

Generative AI tools were used in making Hopwood. The music and sound effects were created with ElevenLabs. The game’s icon was created with an image generator (OpenAI). The story, dialogue and other in-game text, their English and French translations, and part of the code were written with AI assistants (Claude) under the developer’s direction. The level, creature and interface art comes from licensed asset packs (Platformer 2D Game Kit, Sunny Land, Bamao UI); the temporary sprites of some characters were drawn by a script and will be replaced. Nothing is generated by AI while you play, and the game does not connect to any external AI service.
