What is in the demo?

Play a complete ten-wave dive with three bosses. Octopus, jellyfish and sea snake are available from the start; unlock the hermit crab through progression. Discover 38 graftable organs, 18 synergies and three unlockable contracts. Clear A0 to unlock A1. There is no playtime countdown or limit on new runs. The full game offers a wider selection of species and builds.

Hetero-Genesis is a 2D deep-sea action roguelite. Choose a species, graft new organs onto its body, and fight your way through an ocean that keeps pushing back.

Choose an organ. Make it part of you.

Pick a new organ, then choose where to attach it. Watch it join your body as each choice becomes a visible change to your build.

Hammer blows and piercing strikes

Make melee organs part of your body. Close in for hammer blows or piercing strikes, and find openings as you move into contact with your enemies.

Fire water jets and light projectiles with ranged organs. Follow each shot from your body across the battlefield to its target, and discover another way to fight.

Suction arms that bend and pull

Watch an octopus’s suction arms flex and stretch as it moves, connects, and pulls. The organs on your body become part of every encounter.

Fractured Mutation: reshape your species

Choose Fractured Mutation to reshape your body along a new species path. Watch the complete transformation and change how you fight within the same dive.

Survive the pressure of later waves

Venture into later waves and face enemies attacking from several directions. Move through overlapping attacks and abilities while keeping your changing body alive.

Target the boss’s vulnerable organs

Confront a deep-sea boss and focus your attacks on its vulnerable organs. Watch its body, choose your target, and look for an opening at close range.
