About This Game

Shrinking is the hottest trend in Trick-or-Treat Land. What could go wrong?

Five years after his first adventure, Gumball is enjoying a quiet life in his gumball machine until an emergency broadcast from a frantic marshmallow scientist yanks him out of his chair and drops him from the sky into an unfamiliar corner of Trick-or-Treat Land. Again.

His old pal Cornando is trapped inside Shrink HQ, the headquarters of the corporation behind the Shrink Ray craze. Billboards for MUSSTY'S SHRINK SHOP line every road, and nearly every trick-or-treater has a ray of their own. Armed with a discount Junk Ray and a pocketful of treats, Gumball must build a Shrink Squad, cross the bustling northern frontier, and find out what the Board of Directors is really planning.

Build your Shrink Squad.

Almost every opponent can join your team. Recruit from 70+ partners, form squads of three, and swap members in and out at Shrink Terminals across the map.

Battle with more than brute force.

Each partner has four attacks, but damage isn't the only way to win. Swing an opponent's MOOD or build your own MOMENTUM to earn extra turns and outmaneuver tougher squads.

Explore day and night.

12 distinct areas each have their own day-and-night palettes, characters, and encounters. Time passes as you travel.

Think small.

Shrink yourself down to slip into tiny side-scrolling worlds hidden inside the overworld, home to secret treats, crumbs, and bug partners you won't find anywhere else.

Darkly whimsical, proudly silly.

A sprawling 15–25 hour story in the tradition of Earthbound, Paper Mario, and the great Game Boy Color RPG sequels, with a brand-new cast and a few familiar faces.

Pixel art that pushes the Game Boy Color.

Built in the spirit of the late-era GBC games that squeezed every color out of the hardware, with full-screen illustrated stills for key story moments. A physical Game Boy Color cartridge is planned alongside the Steam release.

Gumball and the Shrink Ray is in active development. All screenshots and footage show work-in-progress content and are not final.
